First, this is an old building so don’t expect much on decor. The service was adequate. Only one waitress handling all the tables for breakfast so she was running. Coffee was ok but not hot enough. I had the breakfast plate and it looked great but the refried beans and potatoes were cold so that ruined the whole meal. I was hoping to find a place local but I’ll still need to drive up North for good food and atmosphere.

La Gardenia is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Texas City and surrounding area. Melinda and the family are so friendly and welcoming it is unmatched. Everything on the menu is simply outstanding and delicious. The Hungry Hardhat has placed La Gardenia on my 5 Star Platinum list of must tries. Trust me when I say this place is with out a doubt THE BEST!!!!! So let it be written.... So let it be EATEN!!!!

Went to lunch here at 1:30, for sit down service and witnessed my order go into a microwave to heat my meal. My chicken enchiladas weren't bad, plastic drinking cups were so chipped and cracked, that I was more than happy to use a straw. Not impressed.
