On the evening of November 23, 2024, at approximately 9:50 PM, I, along with two companions, entered the Como Social Club. Upon our arrival, a man approached us in a confrontational manner, stating that hats were not permitted. One of my companions was wearing a $500 men’s King Fedora hat. Another member of our group pointed out that a man in the corner was wearing the same hat, to which the doorman replied that the individual was the singer and that no hats were allowed. He did not greet us and instead approached us aggressively. My companion promptly removed his hat. We then proceeded outside to a table where we were not attended to, despite being clearly visible. I went to the bar to request a manager and spoke with Danielle Dorsch, the Food and Beverage Manager. I inquired about the hat policy, and she informed me that only ball caps were prohibited. I recounted our experience and noted that no one had offered assistance. I requested that she examine the hat. She apologized and confirmed that the hat was acceptable and could be worn. Although she offered complimentary drinks, we declined, as we were not seeking anything for free; we simply wished to enjoy our evening. It appeared that we were subjected to immediate discrimination upon our arrival. It is also worth mentioning that the only Black individual in our group was the only Black person present in the club. While the Food and Beverage Manager was very apologetic, the behavior exhibited by your security personnel was entirely unwarranted. We will not be returning and will advise others to do the same. It is regrettable that Como Social Club has allowed such discriminatory actions to occur.

Unfortunately, you have to post at least a star to post a comment. It does not even deserve the one star!!
We went into the Como Social Club tonight with the intent to enjoy an evening out in the town. My boyfriend and myself had never been to this establishment before. However, my sister that we were with had been there several times before. She was the one who recommended us to go there. Well, after tonight, she would recommend that no one go there.
Let me tell you about our experience….my boyfriend is African-American and my sister and I are both white. We were all three appropriately dressed for a nice night out. My boyfriend had on nice pressed jeans, a fresh white button up shirt, dress loafers, and a fedora style hat. He lead the way into the club as we walked in from the elevator. A gentleman(Roberto - Club Security) walked from across the room and immediately, in what I felt was rather aggressive, walked up to my boyfriend and told him that there is a no hat policy and that he would have to take it off. There was no introduction. No ‘excuse me sir’. NOTHING. I immediately looked across the room and saw a white gentleman standing in the same area in which the man came from with a hat that was much like what my boyfriend had on. I immediately pointed into the man’s direction and pointed out that he had in the very same style hat so what is the difference. The gentleman stated that he was the singer for the night so he could wear the hat. I voiced that I didn’t understand what the difference was, but OK. This behavior immediately gave me a bad vibe. We walked out to the patio area to find a table to sit at. There were ladies sitting in the couches and two couples at a two tables. It was not overly crowded that you wouldn’t notice that three new people had come to sit at a table. A server walked right past us and never ask if she could help us. We were sitting there discussing amongst ourselves what was going on. Still no one came. We turned to look at the server area at the bar. There were two servers just standing there talking and laughing. We still sat there with no service. My sister decided to approach the bar and ask for a manager. She did end up speaking to Danielle, the Food and Beverage Management, and she ask about the hat policy. Danielle stated that the hat policy states no baseball caps. Danielle came to our table to see that the hat my boyfriend had one was definitely not a baseball cap. We discussed with her the situation. She did apologize and offered to send us a round of drinks or shots. We informed her that we were not interested in getting anything free. We just want to be treated fairly. As we were preparing to leave our table, the same server that had already walked past us and who stood and talked and laughed with her coworkers, came over to ask if we needed anything. By this point, the mood had been killed.
None of us are the type to use “the race card” but this was blatantly how this situation played out. We did inform Roberto that we would make sure to let everyone know how he treats people. He, of course, stated that he was told no caps and that’s why he said something. However, before I prepared this review, I was looking in the Como Social Club Face Book page. There is a very recent video that was posted that shows Roberto as the gentleman standing at the top of the stairway and MULTIPLE men in the videos, both customers and performers, wearing hats. This shows that Roberto knew very well the hat that my boyfriend had on was acceptable.

I’m An African American male & tonight was my first time in my entire life being racially profiled. As soon as I walked in Como Social Club with my girlfriend & sister we where approached immediately & very aggressively by a security guy named Roberto & was told that the Como Social Club had a no hat policy so I removed my Fedora Keith James Hat with no problem at all! But my girlfriend had observed a male inside that was not African American wearing a Fedora hat as well so she asked Roberto why does that guy get to wear a hat. He stated that the other guy was a singer so he’s allowed to wear a Fedora hat but not customers. So as we proceeded to have a seat,no one approached our table so my sister went to find management & asked her about the no hat policy which she stated that they do have a policy for no ball caps which was understandable completely but I was wearing a Fedora hat. We where offered free drinks from the manager Danielle, but at that point, our whole mood had changed & we where ready to leave the establishment without even ordering anything. We didn’t want anything free after Como Social Club showed racism towards me!

Wanted to host a company Christmas event with around 40 people. After initial consultation and being told this was definitely something they could do, I was completely ghosted. Not sure what kind of place y’all are running here but I’ll gladly take my money elsewhere
Bartenders, dolls. Atmosphere, cute. Performers & DJs, phenomenal. Management? Disrespectful and rude. I would never recommend coming here unfortunately, there’s a lady in management that works here that just totally killed the vibe and I never want to go back.
They watered down neat drinks (and not cheap shots). Will report to TABC.

I keep giving this place chances but it never hits the mark. There isn’t enough seating or servers. The layout is weird and their giant TV out of place in a space that seems to want to be a chic lounge. We really wanted to enjoy their recent salsa night, but I couldn’t get their RSVP link to work. We showed up and it was packed. The band started 40 minutes late. The dance floor was too small, and no server came by until we were ready to leave. And why no seating at the bar? Just not an enjoyable time.

DO NOT HOST A PRIVEATE EVENT HERE
I hosted an event at the como social club and was extremely disappointed with the customer service. They told me they charge $750 for a private event, plus extra fees (25% service charges, 8.25% taxes). This is just to reserve the space. It doesn't come with anything else! In the end I ended up paying $997 just to reserve the space. They charged my credit card but never sent me an invoice. The charge seemed higher than what I was expecting based on the rental fee and extra charges I was told about. When I asked for an invoice they sent me a receipt with the total charge, but not a breakdown of the charges. I had to ask again for an invoice with a breakdown of the charges. Turns out they also charged me a $45 rental occupancy fee. When I asked for clarification on this, they said that it was a fee associated with Marriott. But why would there be a Marriot fee when the event is at the Westin? I searched the contract, and the fee is not listed in there either. I tried to get clarification on this and sent 4 emails with no reply. Additionally, I was told that there would be centerpieces and a private event sign- neither of which were present. This resulted in other people coming on to the balcony (that I paid $997 to reserve) throughout my event. I emailed them after the event to tell them this, and of course I got no reply. Don't waste your time or money hosting an event here.

Drinks were awful, they brought out the wrong food, I sent it back and they never brought out the right order, and they charged my card $95 for another customer with a similar name. Not to mention playing the local news on a big screen at 10 PM is a huge vibe killer. Bartender was nice, but obviously in over his head with his workload. I ended up spending $120 and getting nothing but a $16 cosmopolitan that tasted like straight lime juice. Do not recommend even a little bit.

We went here for a New Year’s party. It was absolutely fabulous. The music, dancing and access to outdoors are all wonderful features of this amazing cozy, fun place.

This place has so much potentialThe atmosphere was great! We went there for New Year's Eve. Music was great. Unfortunately the drinks were less than desirable and the service was even less. Could have been such a better time if they had good drinks and good waitstaff. Save your receipt because the amount that cleared my bank was not what I signed for.
