I’ve read mixed reviews and decided to try them out bc I went by and the cupcakes were pretty tasty. When you complete an online order form, no one will respond back in a timely manner. And hosting a party, you’re trying to prepare and plan. I called, went in person, (they told me someone would contact me for a deposit, details) waiting for someone to respond is like watching paint dry. It was over a 10 Day period when someone finally said they could do it. When I asked about cookies also to be added to the order she responded back asking for my phone number to better communicate. Yet I never received a call. So, now, two weeks later, I’m cutting it close to my sisters babyshower and really need a cake. I’m using someone a client recommended (ladybird) her instagram is awesome. She’s expensive, but her reviews and prompt responses (less than 24hours later) are worth it. Now I can finally relax knowing I’m getting a delicious and beautiful cake plus cookies. Wish Frost Bake Shoppe was more organized and professional bc I would have used them for all my events. But I can’t rely on anyone to even respond and take my deposit to lock in my order. I asked a week ago if I can just pay a deposit to lock this in. No response. Then I asked for any update … no reponse.

Our cake was $80 and the decorating is awful. A child could have decorated it better. They have circle cutters in the back, why didn’t they use them? The fingerprint on the black circle is also concerning. The cake smells very strange as well. Extremely disappointed. I would like to return it, but then we won’t have a cake. We should have gone to Kroger or even Walmart. Do not get a custom cake here!

Ordered here many customers cakes - many walk-in orders.
Easy going, flexible, forgiving customers. I feel I need to warn ppl bc most ppl have specific event deadlines for these things and are a little more specific on events than we are.

PROS: delicious baked good so good you will put up with repeated abuses of customer care on custom orders. Custom cakes delicious styles pretty great can make some more intricate ones when they want to. Front desk staff very nice helpful kind, custom order phone person who is also front office very nice. pick up usually easy if cake exists.

Cons: Custom order EVERY single one over two years - made past deadline we let the cake place make - not our deadline. EVERY order lost, delayed. I do ev one on company online form, call after to confirm and review, call two days later, call again day of. EVERY SINGLE one. They will say they called no voicemails exist, no emails, no missed calls and they will say things like we tried to call you or now the cake needs more time ---even though you spoke with them they day prior and two days before that and the day before that and every call they assured you cake was all good. I would believe them if it was that one occurrence but I have a two year history of this occurring on every order now. multiple custom cakes. You have to call them multiple times day for days to assure your order done and they have done all the work and even then no cake may exist for your celebration.

They did this as usual to our last order this week and it was the last straw - life is too busy to do all your own legwork for THEIR business. It s new year and we will find a better event support. Reading through reviews I see it is common issue on custom orders.

1st time visiting in search of cup cakes for a coworkers birthday and had to try the chocolate sheet cake which was to die for‼️ you will not be disappointed.

I have placed an order here for cakes and cookies the last several years and not only were they fantastic looking but taste amazing as well. I don’t usually write reviews and I am not very picky but I feel this is much needed. The cake is absolutely stunning. Love it. However, I am very disappointed in the cookies. First of all I asked for a navy plane or something that matched with the other cookie and cake which was not done. I can move past the wrong color plane bc other than that it’s fine but the other cookie looks terrible. It does not look professional at all. Now, even with this I was fine with it. I asked if they could put some of the shimmer powder on it to make it look better(which I have previously had done for no charge) and she would not do it bc she said I didn’t ask for it and it would be an extra charge for each cookie. Again, usually I would be fine to pay if I just wanted extra detail but the cookie looks terrible, it needed something. Not to mention I placed the order via email on Wednesday and everyday I had to call and follow up until the Saturday I was finally able to get the order placed. Not sure if there is new management or what but something has definitely changed here. Very disappointed.

I really wanted a cake and themed cookies from them for my son’s 1st birthday. I submitted the online form and was excited when I got a call back from them to discuss the shape of the cookies and explained the dozen per shape and 2 dozen minimum required. I was supposed to get a call back for the quote after they spoke to the baker and unfortunately didn’t hear back from them. I called a few days later and it seems my order inquiry was lost? They took my information again and then said if I didn’t hear back from them to submit the order again. They weren’t apologetic and seemed indifferent. This was super frustrating, you’re the business, shouldn’t you be the one trying to make it as easy as possible to get your customer’s business? I had already submitted this form and spoken to someone twice. I was waiting to get the quote to pay the deposit. I never heard back from them so I went with a different shop.

Ordered a custom gluten free coconut cake for a special occasion. The cake was delicious, but they got the writing wrong (and no one available to correct it). Asked for Fall colors on the piping and got plain white on white. Had been very happy with a couple of cakes we ordered previously. Very disappointing for the price.

I had a custom cake made for my friend’s birthday, the whole process was easy. I gave her a picture of the balloons that I had for the party and she matched the cake perfectly and it was delicious. I also had A cookie while I was there, and the cookie was delicious as well.

Insane you cannot order a sugar free cake. ???? Just don’t add the sugar. It’s not rocket science.

Placed a large order for custom cookies, not only they were printed cookies instead of the icing ones I requested and show them pictures of, the printing was coming off in most of them when I picked them up, and there was not resemble with the reference pictures at all. Not only I was offer no solution, I had to email and call several times, and when they call me back (after my event) they asked me to wait in line, after 4 minutes waiting and me cutting the call, it took them an extra 20 minutes to be called back. You will find the picture I showed as reference and what I got instead. Extremely disappointed.

UPDATE -I wrote a pretty scathing review before because of my order going missing. However, when I contacted the shop about the charge hitting my credit card, they offered to process the order & deliver by end of the week. Very much appreciated & their chocolate sheet cake is sinfully delicious.

Frost Bake Shoppe made a Cat in the Hat cake for my granddaughters birthday! It was amazing. I sent over a picture of the cake, not only was it identical to the picture, they included extra for me. The cake was absolutely delicious too... I will buy all my cakes from Frost Bake Shoppe!Katie F.
