Kirby Ice House - The Woodlands

We held a volunteer social networking event on Tuesday night, and could not be more pleased. The venue was perfect, although the volume was a bit loud. The server, Alice, did an amazing job of serving all 40+ attendees. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to hold monthly events at Kirby's. Thanks for great service.

We had 3 tables reserved right next to the bar. It was a great amount of space for our group and it made it easy for everyone to get drinks right from the bar instead of having to always rely on the waitress.

We love so many things about Kirby’s, but the bad outweighs the good. I’ll list what we love about it, and where it needs serious improvement:

What we love (5 stars):

Beautiful building! Very cool aesthetic!
Great customer service :)
Fun things to do outside (Corn Hole, etc)
Dogs are welcome :)
Always wonderful options for Food Trucks
Lots of flat screen TVs inside
Very cold A/C inside
Water station
Delicious frozen drinks, beers & ciders

Here’s what needs serious improvement:

The main outside area is beautiful and spacious but has absolutely NO FANS! 😫 We’re in Texas…..when it’s 90+ degrees outside, high humidity and no wind, it feels UNBELIEVABLY hot outside.

*** So, today is the final game of the World Cup. We went outside to sit because there’s no seating inside. Also, you see the screen so much better when you’re outside. But,, there are absolutely NO FANS whatsoever to keep people cool.! 😫 The heat is so oppressively hot, like you’re being baked inside of an oven hot, I saw people with umbrellas, trying to keep them so cool…. I saw people trying to put water on their skin, trying to cool down…. People trying to cover their heads with shirts…… I don’t understand why management can’t at least have tables that have umbrellas on them?? or have fans all across the back of the fence with water misters to blow cool air on people to keep them cool 🥵 It was SO hot outside, even though we had a perfect table, we left….. because it’s so unbearably hot, we all felt nauseated like we were gonna throw up.🤮Headaches and nausea from heat is a sign of heat, exhaustion. 🥵☀Please, Kirby’s management… You need to put multiple fans outside!

The outside (middle section that is under shade) also needs more fans….preferably the kind that mists cool water (they have that at other places)

For some unknown reason you can’t pay with Apple Pay.

The mixed drinks are never very delicious. I don’t know if people made maybe need to get trained better on making the drinks.

The staff are very helpful and did their very best to accommodate us. I think they were a little bit understaffed on the day but that didn’t seem to affect peoples enjoyment.

Being my first visit to Kirby Ice House, I was a little disappointed, I waited for service for about 10 to 15 minutes at one area of the bar, when no one showed up to take my drink order I ended up moving to another area to get served. I asked a simple question to the bartender regarding the issue and she really didn’t seem too concerned about my customer experience. So I ordered my beer/shot and closed my tab. I hope the next time I visit the experience will be much better…….🤞

No standing during the world cup games, rude staff who persistently relocate you after every hydration break, an absent manager who isn’t even present on site to air your grievances to. The most low energy beer garden in the Houston. Bartenders are amazing, rest of the staff just following poor leadership from management. Cash flow must be good enough because this place isn’t near its potential hospitality wise.
