As a very experienced traveler having visited 45 countries and with close to 3k reviews on TripAdvisor here is my experience details. Dinner for two when nothing else to do on a Saturday night.The good:- Phone answered in 10 seconds, Very nice lady took our reservations and set us up over the phone.-Reservations were for 6:30, we arrived at 6:25 and immediately greeted, no one was at the door to open it so we opened it, and within a minute and a half we were taken to our table.-Our waiter’s assistant named Francisco, young guy curly hair was very attentive to our requests during the course of our experience, lemon for our teas arrived in 2 minutes, ensured our table was cleaned no bread crumbs at all times and kept refilling our teas and brought us boxes to go.-Perfectly clean restrooms with good soap and towels however only one urinal.-The steaks were cooked exactly as I ordered them so this was a plus, asparagus was also very well cooked and the variety of bread was exquisite (should be good since they charged extra $5 right?)The bad:-There was still sunlight outside so coming in was very dark and hard to see, when we were seated we could not read the menu at all because of the darkness and we observed the other tables had bright lamps while our table had a dimmed lamp. We requested a brighter lamp and the waiter indicated they didn’t have anymore so we had to use our phones lights which in a 5 star place where you pay premium is totally unacceptable.-The wedge salad we ordered was completely covered by bacon I could barely see the lettuce underneath, I ordered a wedge salad not a bacon salad.-The music was very loud therefore people had to raise their voices and the whole place was noisy needless to say a quiet conversation was not attainable.-Every single time when I visit a 5 star place, the waiter grabs the the cloth napkin and place them on my lap as a courtesy, I was expecting a little attention but didn’t happen.-I finished my salad and placed my utensils in the way indicating the staff I was done but it seems they didn't know how to read the “I’m finished” signal. Took them 8:52 minutes to pick up my bacon/wedge salad, a little too much.The would be nice:-Teach your staff to know when utensils are placed in a certain way they need to take the food away.-Probably expand your desserts selection.-Have salt shakers on the tables.-In a place where you pay premium, I would expect airlaid napkins so that would be nice however not mandatory.Our overall experience was average, in a bill of $230 for dinner for two people before the tip and (no alcohol) it was just ok. I believe in my expert judgment and my fair opinion gives this place a good 3.2 in scale from 1 to 5 where 1 is poor and 5 is excellent.
I’m writing to let everyone know Mastro’s will not place an order over the phone, IMHO is terrible service. Food is great, while you’re there the service is impeccable, but let’s get the basics under control.

Very nice atmosphere. Service level needs significant work, so much so I wouldn't return because restaurants of this nature don't have fails like I experienced. Part of the meal ok. Lobster was fine. Husbands Seabass was not fresh. Not at all a special experience like you see at comparable restaurants. Drink I ordered came, when I submitted reminder of the order just minutes prior to the meal. Not allowing me time to finish it. Drink was spilled on table making a mess while waitress tried to poor it. Side dish spillage in my lap while aiming for my plate. To go portion of the meal was mis handled. They offered a small discount however that doesn't replace the experience in any way. I am thinking to much improvement needed to risk returning

This was my first visit to Mastro’s. I decided to take my girlfriend there for our anniversary, however, I wasn’t impressed with the level of service we received.
"Woodlands location" Nice elegant restaurant with good food and ambiance. I would recommend this place for special occasion and also just for a night out. Opens at 5pm central, and Live entertainmentParking: Parking is great vs. the downtown area of Houston.Valet parking is reasonable, but parking is literally behind the building. Will definitely recommend this place for couples night out with good food.

The sautéed shrimp, filet, mashed potatoes, were great. lemon drop, sidecar great but the butter cake is always out of this world never try any other desserts always the butter cake. The music is also good as always.

I can not begin to say enough about how amazing this restaurant is. They take as great of care with your beer as they do their amazing food! The seafood was by far the best I have ever had. The shrimp so large, east coast oysters, and the crab mouth watering. The sushi was so flavorful and tender. The tomatosaladso so sweet. And last but not least the sides all amazing! Asparagus on point and the scalloped potatoes amazing. The steak seasoned and cooked to perfection, mouth watering. Amazing staff and even more amazing attention to all the finer details throughout service. Highly impressed.
