10+ open tables but a 20 min wait.. we saw 4 potential groups leave after hearing there was a wait when there were open tables. Obviously they need more staff.. also the front of house rarely came to check people in.. and two other groups left because no one came to check them in..

Amazing service from Daniel, he managed to handle numerous tables as well as manage the bar. Given how busy it seemed to have gotten, he really nailed the suggestions and service! We will be back to True Food Kitchen and look forward to holiday drinks we were told about!

We eat here all the time and are huge fans of this company and the fact that they do not use seed oils in their food. Today (20 Nov) was the first experience since they closed for a remodel, and it was a really disappointing one. We sat outside in front of the bar windows and the server, who was also the bartender, seemed to have forgotten about us after the initial greeting. Soup was cold when it arrived, the turkey burger took forever. The manager on duty took care of the check, but we weren't looking for a free meal. She didn't make excuses, which we appreciated, but she never explained what the problem was. The server just seemed at a loss for words as to why he forgot about us, never cleared our drinks, or pre-bused our dirty dishes, and never came out to check on us for refill drinks (strange given that he was also the bartender). It didn't seem overly busy and we saw other servers revisiting their tables regularly. There just wasn't a welcoming spirit from him and he just seemed oblivious of the level of service that he was giving. I was a server from high school through college and a while afterwards. I can handle all sorts of missteps including food being late, but the cardinal sin for me in the restaurant industry, and where I leave reviews is when it seems like a place has lost their lust for good, welcoming service - come out and tell your table why it's taking so long. He seemed completely unaware of how much time has passed. I'll venture a guess that a manager will reach out and offer their sincerest apology, that this is not the impression their store wants to have with customers. My advise would be that instead of wasting your time responding to reviews, lead your team and set the tone from the top down of how you expect them to treat guests in your store. It's a slippery slope for a restaurant chain to go from a darling of the food industry to losing their loyal following. We still asked the server and manager to charge us a dollar so that we could leave a tip, because I cannot skip out on that given my background, but he didn't seem to be grateful at all or didn't convince me that he was. Oh well, lots of other choices in The Woodlands thankfully.

I frequently drop in for lunch at this restaurant and it never disappoints! Chef Manny is amazing!!! Each dish he prepares is so flavorful. The freshness of the ingredients really come through with every bite.

The staff is equally impressive! Always welcoming, and genuinely friendly.

If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out!!

Our first time dining here for a date night with another couple. The food was excellent. We ordered brussel sprout appetizer, guacamole , lasagna , burgers and a pizza. Unfortunately at the end of our visit we went to the restroom and our husbands waited at the table for us to return. There were about 8 women’ ahead of us in a 3 stall bathroom. When we returned to our table my husband said an employee asked my husband and hers to leave the table because there was a reservation waiting for it. I thought they were joking. But they weren’t. I think that was very rude and we weren’t there just wasting time unnecessarily. Our server was as also very busy and it took awhile to get to go boxes , and our check. We were patient, that was not a problem , but being treated that way was an unfortunate way to end a first experience. We won’t be back - there are too many great pleases to eat in Houston and we can spend our money anywhere. It’s too bad because everything else about the experience was good.
