Disappointing Stop at Dairy Queen in Trinity, Texas
I’ve eaten at Dairy Queens all over Texas—from bustling spots in Dallas to small-town gems in the Hill Country—and most deliver that reliable, nostalgic fast-food charm. Unfortunately, the Trinity location falls flat on nearly every front. The food is just mediocre, a pale shadow of what you’d expect from the chain. My Blizzard was half-melted upon arrival, with mix-ins unevenly distributed and barely stirred in. The burger patty was overcooked and dry, the fries limp and undersalted, and even the signature soft serve tasted like it had been sitting too long. Nothing here stands out; it’s assembly-line slop that doesn’t compare to the fresh, consistent quality I’ve had at other Texas DQs.
What really soured the experience, though, were the employees. They’re unprofessional, extremely rude, and radiate zero enthusiasm for the job it’s clear they don’t want to be there. I placed a simple custom order (Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard with caramel arrived half-melted, mix-ins barely tossed through) and the cashier rolled her eyes, sighed audibly, and muttered under her breath about “picky people.” When I asked for a minor tweak on the grill items, the response was a curt “Is that all” followed by a sloppy handover where everything was half-assed put together: toppings spilling out, wrappers crumpled, and napkins forgotten entirely.
In a job that inevitably involves custom orders and quick service, making your annoyance so obvious is uncalled for and kills any repeat business. This Dairy Queen feels like it’s running on fumes skip it if you’re passing through Trinity and head to a better one nearby.

Nachos, corn dogs, tacos, and blizzards? This DQ had the most complete menu of all your favorite foods growing up in small town Texas. Love hitting new DQs as we road trip through the greatest state in our nation(I’m biased).

Love the buster bars here. Staff are very nice. The reason for the 4 stars is that the store is always busy, sometimes too busy to be able to stop and shop. Nothing wrong with being busy and I'm happy that they are, but the store should practice efficiency.

As the blizzard are always good, how hard is it to get tacos right. When I ask for no lettuce and tomato that's how it should be.
