Just know.. if you go every day, order the exact same thing, the price WILL be different every time. Not only is it a different price, but they'll ring you up, tell you something like $4.24 but your credit card receipt will be $4.41.. like mine was.. this morning.

One of the men that worked there seemed put out that they were busy and he had to help me. He messed up my order and I just didn't want to argue. This was a one time thing. Food is always good and the service usually is.

Stopped by Donut Palace in Van, Texas, hoping for a sugar rush and maybe a little deep-fried happiness. I grabbed a glazed donut, a cinnamon twist, and a pig in a blanket—you know, a well-rounded breakfast of champions (or people who make questionable morning choices).
The Good:
• Glazed Donut: This was the highlight. Soft, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. It wasn’t life-changing, but it also didn’t make me question my choices. If you’re looking for a solid, classic donut, this one does the job.
• Cinnamon Twist: Generous in size, which I appreciated because if I’m eating fried dough, I want a lot of it. The cinnamon-sugar ratio was on point, though it leaned a little dry. A dip in coffee or milk would have helped bring out its full potential.
The Not-So-Good:
• Pig in a Blanket: More like a pig in a sleeping bag—a little too much dough for the size of the sausage, making each bite more bready than meaty. The sausage had a decent flavor, but it wasn’t exactly bursting with personality. A little more seasoning or a spicier sausage option would’ve made it a bigger win.
The Verdict:
Donut Palace is a solid small-town stop if you’re craving something sweet in the morning, but don’t expect to have a spiritual donut awakening. The glazed donuts are great, the cinnamon twist is a decent backup dancer, and the pig in a blanket might need a little less blanket.
It’s the best donut store in area. Everything is always fresh and service is fast.

The donuts are pretty good except for the chocolate ones. They have a funny taste like a gassy propane you need to check that out I've noticed that the past two or three times I've been there. The inside of the donut shop needs to be cleaned it's pretty nasty in there.

The service was terrible ordered 6 breakfast burritos that tasted old and only received 3 hot sauces for 6 people to share and the hot sauce had soured had to throw it all away. The dozen that we ordered was not even close to being fresh they were more like 2 day old donuts. The service matched right with the food we were served. Terrible! I recommend taking the extra time to drive to the donut palace in Canton tx. Instead

This donut place is insanely good! Everything they make is delicious . My personal favorite is the apple fritter. It’s gooey on the inside and has a deliciously chewy and crispy exterior. It’s hard to describe, you simply have to experience it. ?All other apple fritters fail in comparison. My husband has a hypothesis to explain why this donut shop is so consistently outstanding. He thinks that they must use better quality ingredients and have a very gifted baker. In addition, the service is always great. We highly recommend this little bakery.

Was not there
I’ve been going here for 4+ years now and the food is always great and I’ve been debating on leaving a review but this has been going on for months. For starters, the driveway in this place is terrible, meteorite sized craters in the parking lot and drive through, if you own a small car good luck cause you will scrape and mess up your bumper every time. Second, the young lady who works the drive through is a lil snappy with customers. Every time for months have been she never listens to what I say the first time, just today she asked me 3 times what I wanted to clarify, then finally gave me my food. A month ago and the month before that she has done the same thing, not sure if it’s new ownership but active listening needs to be in the new training and fixing potholes in your parking lot shows you care about your customers and you’re not just money focused. As always if the experience changes I will update my review but something’s gotta change. The food is good but not that good to deal with all the other things.
