First of all the food is DELICIOUS !!! The service is very good and are making sure your food is good ! The environment is nice and not too big but the restaurant is put together very nicely ! I love the breakfast tacos , and how full they are !

Small simple place.5 stars not because there’s white linen and a stuffy waiter but because for just a small mom and pop place the food was fantastic!The Carne Guisada enchiladas came out quickly and had great flavor.Good south Texas Tex-Mex.

I recently visited Castro's Mexican Restaurant and was blown away by the quality and quantity of the food. The portions were incredibly generous and the prices were very reasonable. I was impressed with the variety of menu options, from classic burritos and tacos to more unique dishes like chile rellenos and mole chicken.The service was also excellent - the staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I especially appreciated the fact that they checked in with us frequently to make sure that we were happy with our food.One of the highlights of the meal for me were the Mexican pastries - they were absolutely delicious and the perfect way to end our meal. I highly recommend trying them out!Overall, I would definitely recommend Castro's Mexican Restaurant to anyone looking for great food with large portions and reasonable prices. The service is excellent and the Mexican pastries are a must-try!

Great customer service by the waitress and the food is really good. We stopped for breakfast on the way to McAllen TX and we were very pleased. Tastes home made. The salsas are good as well. The ambiance is very calm and relaxing. Not noisy at all. The town people are very friendly as well. Definitely coming back when driving by out of town. They also have a DRIVE-THRU !!

Food and service was pretty good. They even allowed me to substitute one item on their "Castro's Plate" for my lunch. The Carnitas, Frijoles, and Enchilada were very good. Taco was pretty good, but also pretty small. Would have also liked a small salad ond the plate that is very typical.
Really a nice little diamond. We stopped for breakfast and really enjoyed the food. Very authentic. Really liked the salsa verde.

Went for lunch and the food was cold. The rice had no flavor and the beans tasted as if they had been sitting out for days and reheated multiple times.

Worst experience of my life. The waitress was not very tentative to us and when we asked for our food, she would roll her eyes at us. The “homemade” corn tortillas are actually store bought tortillas. They hand out the meat really greasy. They should really change waitress because she never once came and asked us if we needed anything else. We left our plates almost full other than 3 bites we took. To say the least, I will definitely not be going there ever again.
