This was a great place for that seafood craving. Food was flavorful with nice portions. The atmosphere is very nice and the restaurant is spacious. Our waiter Gabriel was very attentive and promptly took care of any need we had. Would definitely return and we will be telling friends about this place.

Fish platter was over salted
Boil need more flavor for the non spicy and sausage is too salty
Also ordered after getting non spicy got a 1/2 lbs shrimp spicy with extra potatoes and much better.

I have come several times, only my wife, 4 children, the youngest being one year old, and I. They charged me a $30 tip because we are 6 people even though it is a one-year-old child. I have no problem leaving a tip, but it seems abusive to me to charge a tip for a one-year-old child. They didn't even offer us a baby seat. I asked what age they considered it to be. They said it depended on the waitress and how the child looked. It seems absurd to me. Tips are voluntary and I always do it and leave 20%, but it is uncomfortable that they try to get the tip through a baby. They earn a tip, they lose a customer.

If you are East Texan or from Louisiana.. not for you. Not any real flavor at all. Best part was the shrimp and sausage. Crab sucked and crawfish was bland and awful

Update had to come back and take it from two stars to one.. I got sick from this food.

We’ve never been to a Surfing Crab, so we're a first timer!

The inside looked so pretty and my set of twins enjoyed looking at the paintings

Our waitress was Grace and was absolutely very friendly and talked me through the menu and had conversation with us. We did mention one of our twins was ODD with ADHD and we apologized for him acting out for a bit and she went out of her way to get him more coloring pages since his had got messed up while we was eating. But the other staff was absolutely amazing as well.

The menu had a wide selection of food I wanted to try everything 😂

They gave us wet toilette and gloves before we got our meal.

Everything tasted great I love the flavor of the seasonings.

We will be back again!!!!

I am always hesitant to go places with ratings closer to four than five, but I was thoroughly happy with the food and service here. We got fried calamari, fried pickles, and buffalo wings. The buffalo wings were absolutely delicious. We then picked out seafood, flavor, and spice level. The cajun was delicious, and medium spice is always a safe choice if you enjoy flavor but would rather avoid internal burning. The gentlemen's platter was also delicious. The waitress was always in front waiting for anyone who may need assistance: excellent service, delicious food, and plenty of leftovers. I am serious, though. Get the wings!

I recently dined at The Surfing Crab in Victoria, TX, and unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, the service was noticeably lacking, which significantly impacted our overall impression.

Ambiance: The restaurant has a decent setup with a casual and laid-back vibe. However, the atmosphere was overshadowed by the poor service we encountered.

Service: The service was atrocious. After being seated, it took nearly 20 minutes for anyone to come and take our drink orders. The staff did not seem very hospitable or attentive, making the dining experience frustrating. It felt as though we were an afterthought rather than valued customers.

Food: While the food itself was acceptable, the long wait times and inattentive service took away from the enjoyment of the meal. Even after ordering, it felt like an eternity before our food arrived, with little to no engagement from the staff.

Value: Given the poor service, the value of the experience was significantly diminished. No matter how good the food may be, lackluster hospitality makes it difficult to justify returning.

Overall: The Surfing Crab has potential, but the service needs a serious overhaul. If the staff were more attentive and welcoming, it could be a much better experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I cannot recommend it and am unlikely to return.

Final Verdict: Poor service overshadowed the meal, making for a disappointing visit.

Good food, good service, good prices. Couldn't ask for more.

Food was wonderful, service was OK, table we were at was kind of close to the others so that was a little uncomfortable.

It's too bad the servers are so busy socializing here. The food is pretty good though it's too salty to only have one drink with no refills the entire time and when you ask for one you're met with zero response and a 10 minute wait.

We’ve been here several times and have loved it except for this last time. Our waitress never came to check on us and in the middle of eating brought us the check and said have a nice night. We were just brought our food. If we needed anything we had to keep asking the hostess for things like utensils, wet wipes, etc. Not very happy with our experience there.
