Our waitress was excellent..The place has great views and good atmosphere to have drinks and dinner. however, the food was not what I expected. We asked for fish and chips, Steak Kabobs and they were out of both, bbq ribs and they were out.. so it was easier to ask what they weren’t out instead of going through the menu.. we ended up ordering Grilled Salmon, which is supposed to be topped with bourbon glaze. The Salmon was dry and bland, there wasn’t even a hint of bourbon glaze, I had to ask the waiter for any type of sauce and one of the options was bourbon glaze. I was pretty disappointed with the food. I might come back and give it another try but I will never order the salmon here.

Great place to have some food with a view of the lake. The waitstaff were hustling and the drinks were cold. Went here on the 4th of July. No wait to sit down, found a table near the edge of the patio. I chose a salad with salmon. My friend got the chicken caesar salad. Both were good. It was 90-something degrees outside but it wasn’t bad on the patio because they had fans.Beware - They do not have a lot of parking spots. We found one up against the curb on the driveway. After parking, be prepared to walk down a steep hill to either the trail or the tram to get to the restaurant. If you have someone who can easily trip on unlevel ground, you might drop them off at the team stop then go find parking. The tram does have a seat for those that need it.

Won’t be back. No indoor option so it was insanely hot and uncomfortable in 100 degree weather. Pina colada was terrible..paid $16 for 6 tiny shrimp wrapped in bacon.. waitress didn’t provide refills and the cups were really small so we were dying. Not worth the nice view..and the trashy house music just killed any chance of a chill vibe.

Great views of the lake! Food was tasty and drinks were cold and refreshing! It is a bit of a hike down to get to the restaurant, so wear comfortable shoes. Can’t wait to go back.

The grilled salmon was fine but the portion was small and therefore overpriced for the type of casual restaurant by the lake.Btw, the view of the lake by this restaurant is quite disappointing…basically looking at rocks and a sad looking marina.

Fantastic food, friendly staff, incredible drinks, and a killer view. I had the coconut shrimp, crab cakes, and barbecue shrimp. My husband had the green chili pork nachos and the steak kabobs. We loved everything. Shack512 is my new go to lake spot.

Our waitress Elena was awesome the food is always great had the pretzel and some burgers. However they need to hire a new hostess she got extreme pleasure over making people wait very much the wrong person to have as the first contact. The place was not busy but insisted on tell us there was a 30 to 45 minute wait. And 4 tables left while we waited and she didn't do anything till my wife went and talked to the manager. Service was friendly and fast! Got our To go order quickly, even though it was 6 meals. Fish and chips were incredible, pretzel was amazing, fries, wings, and veggie burger were also really good! Getting to there from the boat dock was sketchy for my older parents; it's a STEEP climb!Vegetarian options: Veggie burger with guac. Vegan friendly!

Gia is the most attentive and polite server, she is just fantastic. We came for the view, and even though the lake level is still very low, we were not disappointed. We had a great time at Shack 512! The food and drinks were delicious and atmosphere was great! John was amazing and accommodated us with a table right away! You can’t a better place to have a meal on Lake Travis!
