We catered Baris for our wedding in the fall and were very excited to treat out guest with an amazing meal. We went to Baris two times to sample the food and it was amazing, however the day of the wedding, the food was disastrous.
ABSOLUTELY NO TASTE. ZERO. NONE. NOTHING. NO TASTE AT ALL.
It was chicken alfredo and it had absolutely no flavor. I was surprised, embarrassed for my guest and disappointed. Many of our guest started asking for salt to try to give it even a hint of flavor. There was so much food left over and NOBODY wanted to take it home.
I contacted Baris about this matter and they only said they could give us a discount on our next catering?? What is this? Does Baris actually think I am going to eat there again after paying THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS and the food having NO TASTE AT ALL!
PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT ORDER CATERING FROM BARIS.

The Baris family provided our staff lunch today at the China Spring Primary School! It was amazing! It lifted our spirits on a cold day. They provided several delicious options... all hot and fresh. The rolls are HUGE and melt in your mouth!

As a native NYer visiting my sister in Hewitt I must say this is the closest to true NY pizza I’ve had here. I’m very bias about pizza bc my grandmother from Sicily made the best which I myself cannot duplicate. My only suggestion is the bottom crust could be a tad thinner and a little more crispy. But, all the flavors are there.
I ordered the Tuesday's special which was the sausage calzone and salad. I havent been to Baris in forever but from what I remember, I used to love the calzone because it was the regular breakfast pan sausage, however this time around it appears that they have changed the meat to the Italian breakfast sausage which I do not like at all. If they would go back to the regular sausage that they have used before, then this would be perfect. Also, I wish that they would brush the calzone with olive oil or something because the dough is soo dry but other than the sausage, it was just ok. I feel like I wasted my money because I was only able to eat the salad.

I ordered the pizza, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The crust was the perfect balance of crispy and chewy, clearly made fresh and cooked just right. The sauce had that rich, slow-simmered flavor that tells you they take their ingredients seriously, and the toppings were generous without overwhelming the pizza. Every bite was balanced, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. This is the kind of pizza you keep thinking about after the meal is over.
My wife had the tortellini, and it was just as impressive. The pasta was cooked perfectly—tender but not mushy—and the filling was rich and flavorful. The sauce complemented the tortellini beautifully without overpowering it, creating a dish that felt both comforting and elevated. You can tell this is a kitchen that respects classic Italian recipes while executing them at a very high level.
Service was excellent throughout the entire meal. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being rushed, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. It made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable, which is exactly what you want when sitting down for a great Italian meal.
If you’re looking for authentic Italian food done right—whether it’s pizza, pasta, or just a great place to enjoy a meal with family—Baris is a must-visit. I'd been wanting Italian food, while passing through Waco I googled Italian food near me and Baris popped up. I had chicken and shrimp Alfredo and my husband had the cannelloni. They were both very tasty. The oil for dipping the bread was really good to. Our server Layla was simply amazing. This is a sweet, quaint, mom and pop restaurant with great service.

Now don't get me wrong the food here is great, but in the woman's bathroom there is not a signal one of the locks works properly. I don't know about the men's but beware if you want to go to the bathroom

We picked up several trays for our family Christmas. The food was fantastic! Could not have been better. Everyone enjoyed. We also picked up the food early on a Sunday morning and the staff was so friendly. Thank you Baris!!!
