Even if you eat inside, go out on the roof! An October evening was perfect to come up here, just the right temperature! I can't stop thinking about the crispy sweet potatoes. I would say if you come here and not get them you missed out on a dish you may never have anywhere else! Both the sea bass and lobster tagliatelle were excellent! I want to eat sea bass much more frequently after that dish Lastly, chess pie was amazing, the lemon curd really helped contrast it, well done chef!

When I was a kid, I bussed tables at a Waco restaurant called Hickory Stick. One of the cooks, a beautiful soul named Eleanor baked the most delicious pies. Folks raved and came from all over for Eleanor's cream pies. But the Cadillac pie was buttermilk chess. Her chess pie was the most delicious dessert I had ever eaten until...my wife and I celebrated our 43rd anniversary at Bertie's and the chess pie was delivered to our table. It was a large serving, for two, sitting in a luscious pool of lemon custard and topped with maserated rasberries. What a perfect delight to behold and share. Eleanor would be proud. To Lexi our server and the rest of this hardworking team of professionals, My wife and I thank you for a lovely and most delicious evening overlooking our home town.

Had our anniversary (28) dinner here. It was our first visit even though they have been open for a while. From the moment we walked in and the staff knew we were celebrating, they were excited for us and treated us above and beyond. As nice as that was, it wasn’t too surprising, BUT THE FOOD…
Listen, we tried 3 different dishes and had dessert. I am a foodie, and can usually find something to critique, but this place NAILED EVERYTHING!
I can’t recommend it enough.
And ask for Zo’riya for your server. She is delightful.

We stopped by only for Birthday dessert about 30 minutes before closing. They cheerfully invited us in, and treated my wife like a queen!!! The warm Dr. Pepper fudge cake was awesome, a couple of glasses of wine to celebrate the outdoor table as requested!!! The experience was priceless and amongst the best birthday dessert of her short 63 years around the sun!!! Thank you too the staff for making it a special moment, even though it was close to closing time!!!
