It's been many years since our last Luby's trip. I have fond memories going as a kid. I was genuinely excited to visit an old friend. The modern Luby's experience isn't as wonderful these days. The food is mostly as I remember. Can't go wrong with any fish or chicken meal. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese are staples and excellent. The selection of pies are equally good. So, what's the problem? Hard to put a finger on... The staff works hard, attentative, polite. It's a combination of the beige dining room, the worn out men's room, the elimination of the service cart filled with drinks and condiments, and the price tag! Three plates and drinks = $50. Wow. Hardly competitive. Walked out satisfied, but missing the nostalgia of Luby's circa 1980s. C+

Selected the baked Tilapia which was good, however, temperature was barely warm, which indicates that servers are not monitoring steam table. Flavor was there, but without proper temperature it leaves a lot to be desired. Other than that, Luby's is always a great place for homestyle meal.

came there saturday from dallas. the food was cold. the bathroom was unclean, paper all over the floor and floor was wet. restaurant could use more upkeep, more cleanup. have been here before and seems lke has gone downhll. very bad experence. 1 star ratng!

Went to Luby's in Waco and got baked tilapia with green beans and mac & cheese. It was all quite tasty and the staff was very friendly. It was around 3:00 in the afternoon, so there wasn't any crowd. Easy to get to off of I-35.

As I entered the bathroom an employee was coming out. Why wouldn't he pick up the trash laying about? Where's his pride in his employment? Wife said women's bathroom also filthy. Floor of dining room dirty with food droppings. No white rolls when I went thru the line. Two employees said they'd bring me one.....never made it. Food was barely warm.
My mom and I would always go to Lubys. We just came from there. People are nice and helpful. Victoria was very nice and helpful. Keep up the good work.

So disappointed. Used to eat at Luby's fairly frequently, but never again. The food was awful. All four of us thought it was substandard. Chicken fried steak, baked chicken and baked whitefish were all bad. Sad to say, but we won't be back.

Out of fried chicken, but had fresh chicken fried steak. Still love the sides. Paid $3,99 for a price of pie that was not put in my bag to go.
