It's been many years since our last Luby's trip. I have fond memories going as a kid. I was genuinely excited to visit an old friend. The modern Luby's experience isn't as wonderful these days. The food is mostly as I remember. Can't go wrong with any fish or chicken meal. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese are staples and excellent. The selection of pies are equally good. Selected the baked Tilapia which was good, however, temperature was barely warm, which indicates that servers are not monitoring steam table. Flavor was there, but without proper temperature it leaves a lot to be desired. Other than that, Luby's is always a great place for homestyle meal.
Went to Luby's in Waco and got baked tilapia with green beans and mac & cheese. It was all quite tasty and the staff was very friendly. It was around 3:00 in the afternoon, so there wasn't any crowd. Easy to get to off of I-35.
