Mamaka is a great place. The bowls and smoothies they offer are tasty, healthy, and consider dairy-free/vegetarian dietary restrictions. Although the bowls are a bit pricy, the fresh ingredients, bowl sizes, and wonderful taste make it worth it. They also have a refrigerator full of other products.
The service is amazing. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu, patient with new customers, friendly, and attentive. Each staff member that I have encountered has added to the positive atmosphere.
Mamaka is definitely an homage to surf and Californian skate culture. Speaking of that the bathrooms are clean and artistic (pages of surf magazines used as wallpaper). There are a range of seating options from semi-indoor to outdoor. There relaxing patio chairs, barstools (for those who want to watch the process), short stools, and chairs with back support. There is even a wooden swing seat for customers of all ages. Lastly the merchandise is on brand, quality, attractive, and reasonably priced.
Mamaka is an experience I encourage you to try.

Ok I was really skeptical at first of this place because the vibe is cursed (it is what you would expect when you think of a surf-inspired business dropped in the center of Texas) but the bowl was really good and the servers were very chill. I don’t know what compelled the owners to not have the blenders be in a kitchen with a door because there’s really no choice but to sit outside if you want to hear literally anything going on around you. But perhaps that’s not a bad thing. It was a really nice day and I was happy to be outside. Also, thank god it’s smoothie bowls and not yogurt bowls.
Vegetarian options: it’s fruit and veggies. Like, only. It’s healthy vegetarian food. must i go on?

I ordered the regular sized pipeline because I know they typically put more toppings than smoothie so I make sure to order the bigger portion. The pipeline I received today tastes almost over powering with peanut butter and I know this is one of the ingredients but it’s literally all you can taste. It tastes like cold peanut butter. And I’ve had the pipeline before and it normally doesn’t taste like this. The color of the smoothie doesn’t even match what is on the website. I’m including a photo of the $11 smoothie bowl I paid for which is almost half granola and topping. This is so silly bc if I’m paying $11 for a smoothie bowl it should at least be made well.

Although these bowls are delicious the service isn't that great. It took almost 30 minutes to get my one small pipeline bowl, and I had ordered online. I was almost late to work I had to ask them 3 times about my small order. People who got there after me were getting their orders before me.Other than that the atmosphere is great on a cool sunny day.
