Truth Reveals

Didn’t get to make it in today for the last day. We planned to attend to celebrate our 6 year anniversary, but got into town too late😢, but we enjoyed the food and wished we had more time to enjoy Sascees. Surely enjoyed the catered event at my husband’s PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT in Hewitt recently. That fried chicken, them greens, and Mac and Cheese was bomb! And that banana pudding was so rich! 🫶🏾🫂

The fried chicken was crunchy and well seasoned. The corn Brad was cooked right. The corn dressings was delicious. I truly recommend it.

Food was Luke warm not hot, smothered pork chops were tender but burnt in certain parts. Food tasted and looked like it's had been out for a while

I can count on one hand on how many times I've been here. I would go often but, like today I had dressing and it was Dry and Salty but they had cranberry sauce this time. Its always a Hit & Miss, more misses though for me.

This is the first review I have ever written. It’s set up like a buffet but you are served the meat/s and vegetables of the day. Don’t expect to order what you want. You get whatever they decided is the option for the day. By the way, the collard greens were bland, the pintos were over seasoned, and the sweet tea came with lemon flavoring already added. I like the option to not add lemon. I really wish this would have been more positive and I had high hopes being a southerner. I expected so much more.

I wanted to LOVE it. This review has 2 parts. We loved the service and people. However, the food has some challenges. Apparently, Sundays are the day to come. The a/c was not working, so they had fans going. Not a very comfortable atmosphere in summer heat. Though atmosphere was not a big deal to me, it was unfortunate about
the a/c. The tables were set with tablecloths and that was a plus. However, the bathroom had soap dispenser with water in it, no soap. My husband's ribs didn't have a lot of flavor he said. The yams were good and the cabbage was good. The cornbread was just ok. The fried chicken was pretty good for me. The piece my husband had was dry. The lady serving said they have more offerings on Sunday. ( Selection) I wish they would be on point every day, not just Sunday. I'm not saying don't give this place a try - maybe it is better than this, it was just an off day when we visited. However, like I stated, the folks working there were very hospitable.
As far as cost- For the price, I don't think it was worth the price tag of $50+ 2 meals + drinks+ tip ( 1 meat, & 2 meat)

The cabbage was delicious, and the mashed potatoes with gravy was good, but unfortunately the fried chicken wasn't crispy and the stewed okra was a little spicy. It's a buffet, so you go to the back to the buffet to order, then eat, then pay at the counter by the door.

The food was too good that I didn’t get any photos. The salt and pepper on the table weren’t and didn’t need to be touched. I am only ever traveling through Waco for medical stuff so the joy of well cooked veggies in particular was appreciated. I just wish my mom was with me because she would’ve liked it even more than me.

While in Waco from Chicago we stopped by Sascee southern eatery restaurant. The food is mouthwatering and o so delicious. The ribs melt in your mouth the fish is fried to perfection and the sides are homemade none of that out the can stuff. Everything is homemade and absolutely fabulous. Please stop by and check them out you will not be disappointed. All I can say is.mmm mmm good. Clean establishment and the food is outstanding💯💯💯
