Very cute store and adorable tables outside to eat the baked goods. But there were limited flavors near closing and our cupcakes were a little stale, but good tasting though!

Silos Baking Co., part of the Magnolia complex created by Chip and Joanna Gaines, is a really cool place to visit. The venue includes a retail store, bakery, and outdoor food vendors, making it a popular destination for fans of the show and visitors to Waco.

During our visit, parking was a challenge, and ongoing construction affected the overall experience. The food truck vendors were not present, so our activities were limited to shopping in the retail store and waiting in line for about an hour to try the bakery. While the bakery items were very good, it felt like the experience was more about the hype from the show than the actual offerings.

I've seen pictures of the complex since the construction was completed, and it looks like we may have visited at an inopportune time. We're planning to give it a second try in the future, hoping for a more complete experience with all the amenities available.

My husband and I have been here multiple times. We’ve had a variety of cupcakes and their cinnamon roll.

I would rate this a 3 star because I think they’re too sweet, too much sugar which overwhelms the other ingredients. I feel like the sugar is the main ingredient and that’s all I taste. They are moist with good quality ingredients and you do get a lot for the price. I am picky with desserts because I make my own. I spoke with someone else that has eaten here and they also felt they were too sweet. If they put in a little less sugar, then they would be perfect.

My husband, on the other hand, thinks it’s the right amount of sugar and loves coming here. So he would give them a five star.

So that’s why I rated this a four, to meet our opinions in the middle. He loves their chocolate cupcakes the best.

There is a bakery in a town named West, which is much better and that’s where I will be getting my bakery from now on.

Do try for yourself, because they are very popular and worth trying at least once. You may love them like many others.

Earlier this week we stopped by and grabbed a few cookies - 2 chocolate chips, 2 silos, and 1 oatmeal cream. I have been looking forward to trying their cookies for a few years, I've had multiple people tell me how good they were when they visited the Silos. However, our visit was a complete disappointment. The cookies we received are the hardest cookies I have ever tried to eat! We tried 2 cookies, 1 chocolate chip, and 1 silo - the chocolate chip was breakable by hand with more force than you would expect for a cookie, and the silo was so hard that it scratched up my son's gums when he tried to eat it. Needless to say, we skipped on the rest and won't be back.

Staff was friendly. I tried two cupcakes the blueberry and strawberry. The strawberry was nothing special. The blueberry wasn’t good and didn’t taste like blueberry. I don’t recommend. I did not finish either cupcake.

Have heard so much about silo and the bakery love to watch the Gaines on TV definitely want to support them there from Texas, but I was sadly disappointed at the bakery. I did expect more coming from Chicago. When you walk into a bakery, you can smell this is a bakery. I’ve tried several times, but the lines were too long. This particular time the line wasn’t as long so we decided finally tried the bakery, parking is difficult and the line wasn’t so long to go in as other times when it’s like around the block, but was it worth the wait no I don’t think so. It was just a cupcake with a lot of icing on the top of very small cupcake with a lot of icing on the top that was way too sweet for me and then I think I ordered a cinnamon roll and the guy wanted to give me a cold cinnamon roll. I’m like no I want a fresh hot cinnamon roll. We had a little bit of a dispute and finally got a hot cinnamon roll. I feel after driving all that way to get there trying to find parking walk all the way in there standing in line. I deserve to get a hot cinnamon roll. I don’t care if the other people have to wait either. You need to figure out something better I don’t know go to Chicago New York and learn from the bakeries there, I want fresh and I want warm. Maybe that’s what it is. You don’t have warmers in the front because of the cupcakes, but I’ll never stop there again. It wasn’t something that I’d say was so great. I have to go back around to see and lots of wonderful things there, purchase beautiful place they’ve done wonders with Waco and I’m so happy for them.

Whoever was working your opening shift on 12/11/24 was terrible. No one welcomed me in. The lady working the register was rude and you can tell she had no desire to be at work that day. I’m already not a fan of magnolia itself, but this is just another reason not to like them.

I bought a SHIPLAP CUPCAKE and the Vanilla Buttercream was extremely sweet and the cake was dry. Honestly I was expecting something better. Also I bought a CHURRO COOKIE and unfortunately same thing happened I did not enjoy it at all.

The bakery prices are acceptable nothing extreme like the Magnolia Market which almost everything is ridiculously overpriced.

Overall this place is beautiful for pictures and that’s it.

Discovered after I left I was shorted a 5.50 (!) cookie and it was too late to go back. Absolutely no way to contact the bakery to see how to get it later. In fact there is no way by phone or even online to reach a human. I kept getting told by a recording to go to 'help' online, even when I WAS at 'help' online. The 'chat' told me the same and then they just ended the chat. This spoiled the whole feel from the Silos as they appear to just not care once they've received your business.

I got the pumpkin spice cupcake and it was delicious. The frosting was out of this world. The proportion of cupcake to frosting was perfect. Honestly it was one of the better cupcakes I've had in a while. I want to come back and try all of the other goodies!
