Sloane's is great! Drinks are fantastic and the atmosphere is laid-back. I've been probably 5-6 times and each time is a different vibe. Christmas is THE time to visit. I felt like I was in a John Hughes movie. It's perfect for a date or get together with a few friends. Space is limited, so a large group tossing back whiskey might be difficult to accommodate.

Sloane’s is my favorite bar in Waco! The decorations are nostalgic and fun and the building is really cool, which makes it a fun visit for me. The cocktails are top notch and always mixed to perfection.

This bar is about as chill as they come. Intimate setting in 80s vibe with very unique drinks. We've been here several times and always had a great time. The drink selection always has something new to try

An absolute vibe. Love the look and decor! The drinks came out in good time and were delicious. Would def recommend going on Weiner Wednesday

Got turned away because there was "no room". There was an open table they had me wait at as they "spoke to the boss" to come back and tell me there was no room.

We had the most odd experience at Sloans last night and honestly they have the worst drinks (super sugary). We were a party of 7 (all middle aged people; 45-53 years old). All professionals and business owners. We were there for almost 4 hours and got “cut off” from drinking. We had 3 gentlemen drink 6 (1 ounce whiskey pours) each in a 4 hour period. That is less than 2 drinks (1 ounce pours) per hour. I had 1 and a half drinks in that same 4 hour period (couldn’t even finish the second one because honestly it was that bad). 2 ladies had 2 drinks in the 4 hour period and 1 gentleman in our party did not have a drop of alcohol.

The waitress told us we were “cut off because she “felt” we had too much to drink already”. WHAT?!?! She said we could talk to the owner if we wanted to and we said of course we would like to. The “owner” walked over and I politely asked what the problem was. She was immediately defensive and responded with “my server feels you have had enough to drink and I trust my servers judgement”. Not for nothing but the server looked like she was 12 years old and couldn’t even answer questions regarding their own drink menu. Yet this “businesswoman” trusted her servers “judgement” that we had too much to drink. Are you kidding me? She went on to say that we were being too loud and she could hear us all the way from the bathroom. First of all, my living room is bigger than this place and if we were too loud, it was because we literally were struggling to hear each other over the music, after all this is a bar, not a library.

Terrible service, mediocre drinks, if you are a middle-aged professional/business owner, take your hard earned money somewhere else! This place is a joke! We will never return nor do we recommend this place to anyone!

Reading all the negative reviews, it seems as if this is a pattern of just bad customer service and bad business. ZERO Stars!

We will never return nor do we recommend this place to anyone. In reading other negative reviews on yelp and google, it seems their “judgement” is very much off. They either kick you out for not drinking or if “they feel” you’re drinking too much. Get it right Sloans! Care a little more about your patrons, after all you are in the hospitality industry.

This is the cutest hidden treasure in Waco! If you’re one to enjoy high quality, creative cocktails or mocktails in an intimate retro environment, this is the place! Staff is kind and attentive, and the bottomless goldfish is a nice touch ?❤️

While the atmosphere was unique with a vintage edge, the service was poor and unfriendly. My friends and I came to celebrate our one friend’s birthday, and were taking our time looking at the menu and chatting. The manager and bartender hovered and approached us every 2 minutes asking us to order, which made us all feel very pressured. The manager then came over and asked us to leave in an extremely hostile manner. This was humiliating, as it caused the entire place to go quiet and everyone to look at us.

I’m not one to go out of my way to post a review, but felt it would be helpful for anyone seeking a more chill environment with their friends without a pressure to order immediately. Personally, I like to take my time looking at a menu and chatting with friends, so if you value this, maybe consider a different place.

Super cool atmosphere, saddened to say the staff was abominable. They hovered over the table, and after being seated for no more than 15 minutes requested that we would leave the premises if we weren’t planning to order. We were not being disruptive in any way. The hostility that took place was truly unlike anything I have ever experienced at a bar. This was an abhorrent experience.

Really great place to have a few!
1940s ish building that’s well maintained with all sorts of retro 80s nods inside.
Fantastic staff that’s attentive and on point.
Prices are fair so you can stay awhile.
