My wife and I drove over an hour to Waco for a late afternoon doctor's appt and decided to have Dinner before heading back home. I want to first make it clear that we love Texas Roadhouse and have been dining in for many many years. We are a retired military family and have visited many locations throughout the US. The wait is always longer than most restaurants, but they typically make up for it with great service and food. After those many great experiences, unfortunately we had a horrible experience at the Waco location last night. We also made a disturbing observation during our visit. We sat and waited for about 20 minutes for a table and as I stated the wait is never an issue for us. However, as we were taken to our seats in the very back of the restaurant, we noticed that there were many small tables open throughout the front and middle of the store. When we arrived at our seats, it was very obvious that 99.9% of everyone back there were minorities (people of color), with the exception of one white family with a mentally ill son. As we sat there and observed the seating of others, it was clear to us that minorities are systematically directed to the back of the restaurant. As I strolled back through the middle and front of the restaurant to confirm my suspicion, I got a sicking feeling in my gut. I saw one black guy at the bar and nearly 100% of the folks throughout the front and middle of the restaurant were caucasian. Our server was very unorganized and repeatedly forgot parts of our order in the kitchen (like tomatoes for the salad, and toppings for bake potatoes). Ordinarily, we understand that servers can have bad days, but given the entire experience it looks very bad.
We are in our mid 50s and must say that this experience is by far our worst. At this point, we would not attempt to discourage anyone from dining in at the restaurant chain due to one bad apple. However, we do want to highlight our experience in order to help other families that will come behind us. God bless!

I had Kylie as a sever in Waco and she was a complete delight! Her witty personality and quick memory ensured our table had the best drinks and baby back ribs for girls night! She deserves a raise and a high five!

Avery at the hostess station appeared very unapproachable and displeased when we came in. It wasn’t even the busiest part of the day. Told my 11-year-old granddaughter and I that the wait would be 10 to 20 minutes, but that we were welcome to sit AT THE BAR, if we didn’t want to wait. I felt that was a totally unacceptable option to suggest with a child included in the party. Overall waitstaff seemed to share the same unhappy disposition. However, the food was good. Music as always, too loud. Front waiting area too congested with people entering, exiting and waiting. The loud music adds to the confusion since patrons can’t hear the waitstaff calling them.

Pretty upset, I ordered a 16 oz ribeye, medium rare, well it was more rare than medium, plus it was very tough, very hard to cut, I just wished I would of told someone but I didn't, which is my fault, won't ever happen again.
