Great place to enjoy early morning conversation! Usually you feel rushed out if you chose to linger too long, but here they were nonchalant and in no rush. The food was excellent, served in a friendly and timely manner. Enjoyed it immensely!

This place is now called "our breakfast place!! It seems to be privately owned. The person who we assumed was the owner stopped by our table..chatted...and thanked us for coming! The food was delicious.the whole menu has a lot of great choices.. Excellent service..priced Right..highly recommend!

This place is now called our breakfast place and is still making the same great breakfasts with a smile.

Good food and portion size. Able to seat larger groups. What really stood out was the quick service and organization. Lots of folks waiting and seating went very smoothly.

It's not the same.... it tries to be like it was but little things that made it worth it are terribly changed.. OJ is not freshed squeezed... its Minute Maid from a fountain. Coffee is like turpentine, make sure you have plenty of room for half the creamer. No good hot sauce anymore and the food is just not made with the same care and quality. Service is top notch and always welcoming with a friendly down home feel... too bad food is not the same

Me and my friend love coming to the egg and I! The only problem is it closes at 2 PM. So I can only go on the weekends :-(. Today I'm trying something new. Crabcake eggs Benedict. So delicious! My friend is having an omelette dress Greens and one single pancake. Why one pancake? The pancake is bigger than the plate and it's not a small plate LOL.

One of our favorites for breakfast! Always really great food, no matter what is ordered, omelets, skillets, pancakes, etc! Fresh high quality ingredients, prepared to perfection! Waitstaff is very friendly and never have we ever had an issue with anything being cooked wrong as ordered! Very attentive and rarely do you have to ask for things. Prices are comparable to other chain breakfast restaurants and so much better in every way! A great choice always!

Fantastic food and service. We had crab cakes Benedict, and corned beef hash and eggs. Coming back, that's for sure.

Best Breakfast in Waco! Waco has some great places for breakfast! Last year it was at one on the Northwest side of the city that made Yelp top 100 later that year (I thought that was a really great review by me, just kidding)! So this year, wanted somewhere new... Yelp suggested a spot being made famous by a couple of TV personalities so we went there and then drove away when I saw a humongous crowd in line getting drinks from the outdoor concession area supporting that huge winding waiting line... Next spot suggested by Yelp looked great but the Yelp data was wrong and they didn't open for another 45 minutes! So on to the next spot, The Egg and I. This SHOULD have been the first spot as no way these others could be this great, seriously! There was a line when we arrived. Mostly local, good mannered, friendly families of 2, 3 or 4 generations in each large party patiently waiting outside near the outdoor patio seating. Being my group was just 2, we got in real quick. The super friendly and smiling hostess took a winding route through the large front room into the medium sized back room. While walking back, it gave me a chance to spy on what everyone was eating! The pancakes were huge! The egg yolks dark yellow and the bacon was perfectly cooked! I also noticed the homey country kitchen décor on walls that just made me believe this was where my grandmas wanted me to eat! Our drinks and menus were to us near instantly. One of the cleanest and most delightful iced teas! Our orders were placed with a lots of tips and advice from our server. Our meals came out very quickly. Our shared whole wheat pancake was slightly tipping over the plate, my Colorado Jack Scramble looked and smelled heavenly and my GF's Denver Omelette looked like it was ready for a photo shoot! The taste of my food was without comparison! The scramble was moist, savory, sweet, a slight crunch of the peppers and onions, and a slight spicy bite from the salsa. The sausage was savory and the spices were delightfully charming. The English muffin was even dreamier than I could imagine. Gentle toasting, light crunch and with the soft tug when biting. Price was well within the food quality, ambiance and superb service. The décor, plating and serving dishes were bright and cheerful! All was exceptionally clean and well maintained for the high customer volume. If in Waco, come here for breakfast! Yes, this is a chain, but it lays deep roots into the community and their concepts works well with the patrons!

I'm not sure I've ever known a place that has better breakfast. Great selection and fast service after you're seated. There is usually a line to get in though

I had the Arizona Turkey Sandwich and it was good. The bottom bread was soggy but other than that it was very tasty. I had the grapefruit juice as well, I love when breakfast restaurants offer it. My daughters got the chocolate chipper pancake. It comes with bacon or sausage and they loved it.
