Just left Tru Jamaica restaurant which is now up and running for business again - it was absolutely delicious. We had jerk chicken, oxtail, curry chicken and curry shrimp and it was all delicious. They have a coconut bread that is quite different and wonderful—-they have a drink that is made with sorrel and hibiscus that is a native drink from Jamaica that was spicy with ginger in it — so yummy!!! Can’t wait to take the rest of my family there

I’ve been here 3 days in a row. I’ve order the beef patties and coco bread, Rasta pasta , jerk chicken and today the curry goat. Everything is soooo delicious. The owner was very pleasant and has great personality. Excellent customer service. If I come back to Waco I’m definitely stopping by again.

I was in town for work and ordered through their website after finding it on Google. I love Jamaican food so was excited to try it. I ordered the pork chop with rice, plantains, cabbage and carrots. The vegetables were excellent, slightly crispy with great flavor. The pork chop was also excellent and had great flavor. They just reopened after a fire and the owner was super friendly and engaging. Go support this local Waco gem! I felt like I ate a wonderful home cooked Jamaican meal. I wish I remembered to take pictures but it smelled so good I dove right in. I will be back next time work brings me through.

Wow! I wasn’t so sure about going to a Jamaican restaurant. SO GLAD I DID! When it comes to curries I like some, and I’m not so big on others. When I mentioned that I was offered a sample of the curry goat. It is phenomenal! Just the right level of spice, and tremendous flavor. The people working here a great too.
Update: They are open again! And every bit as good as before.

Amazing food and amazing service! My favorite Jamaican spot I’ve had in the US with excellent oxtail, patties, and coco bread. The desserts and drinks available are also great. Definitely worth a try and happy to see the dine-in service up and running!

I came here on the weekend, trying to explore all the good food spots in Waco, and trust me, this did not disappoint. The vegetables, rice, and plantains were great, but the jerk chicken was unbelievable. The chicken was juicy and had a fantastic spice level and flavor. I’m 100% coming backs here again.

They're open again! Honestly some of the best Jamaican food I've ever had. The owner is super chill, very happy to share his culinary love and it shows.
I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. We had the jerk chicken and the rasta pasta. Highly recommend both.
Here's to many more years of good food.

Walked in, was immediately greeted and sat down. They were just opening back up from a fire that had happened. They went over the menu with me. I had the meat pie, which I did not take a picture of and also the jerk chicken excellent flavor portion size was nice. I will be back to try some of the other items in the future, so if you’re in Waco a little off the beaten path, but it’s well worth looking up And stopping to have a meal.
