Melby's Coffee & Tea House

Strawberry Matcha was ok. What I do not get is an up-charge of a $ to not put ice in the drink!! Reason given…..we have to put more milk. Even Starbucks does not do that. You are a coffee house, stop nickel and diming your customers. So you were already going to fill the cup to the brim with ice, and basically NOT giving the customer what the customer was paying for, then you make him/her pay to actually get what he/she paid for!

I do not like ice in my drink, always ask it not to put in. Now I have to pay a penalty for it?! For drinks that are already expensive, this ridiculous trend with some of the coffee houses is not a customer-side good practice.

generally i don’t write reviews, and i’ve been going to melbys for the past two years. but recently, their quality has been going down and inconsistent. after the price change (which is understandable in this economy), the quality of their drinks, especially the matchas, have been getting worst. in the photo, i got a white chocolate matcha with oatmilk and half sweet, but the drink itself is almost entirely oatmilk and is still really sweet. the color of this “matcha” has the faintest green, and no matcha taste. in the past, their matchas were bright green and actually had a strong matcha flavor. my recent experience with them has not been the greatest.

update: the staff and owners were really sweet in this situation and they tried fixing the issue. one of the managers called me apologizing and told me i could get a remake whenever. when i went in today, i met the one of the owners we talked for a bit and she would not let me go without something extra due to my past experience. they really do take pride in their work.

The café is wonderfully cozy, with a warm, inviting vibe. It’s a real rarity when a barista can satisfy your distinctly European taste—one that probably seems quirky to most Americans. They listened and made exactly what I asked for, and that alone earns a rock-solid five stars.

Cozy and beautifully decorated with real greenery that makes the space feel so refreshing. The matcha is smooth, earthy and just the right touch of sweetness. The service is always warm and friendly. A true hidden gem in Watauga!

Great boba/coffee/tea shop in watauga, a place farther out west of the DFW area. Probably one of the only boba places in the area.
I got the rose milk tea with boba, Ube matcha latte, and the honey lavender matcha latte.
The rose milk tea was delicious and the rose flavor came through! Their boba was perfectly made and QQ.
The matcha was so smooth, no bitterness and delicious. I preferred the Ube over the honey lavender which was much sweeter.
Nice coffee shop vibes, there were multiple people there working/studying or just hanging out with friends to chat.
I would definitely come back to melby's if I'm in the area to try more drinks.

This is my little hidden happy place!
They have wonderful tea and boba. I have much more to try on the menu, but the space is cute and clean, the staff is also clean and so friendly. Highly recommend!

Melby’s is a great local coffee shop. The service is excellent, and the vibes are perfect for chatting, working, or just reading a book. I’ve tried many of the seasonal drinks, and they are creative and very good. Love to come here just to relax!

Matcha was soooo good — creamy, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness 🍵💚
The staff were super friendly and sweet — made me feel extra welcome ☀️✨
The place is small but super cute and cozy inside 🪴💕
And the best part? Only 3 mins from my houseeeee!! 😍 I’m definitely gonna be here a lotttt hehe~

My favorite coffee/matcha spot!! There is a variety of matcha flavored drinks and seasonal drinks. This place is always bustling with students and people working/studying which makes it seem very welcoming, cosy, and friendly. Love the neighborhood cafe vibe, great staff, and delicious drinks!

Awesome! We loved it the minute we arrived here. We had the oatmeal cream pie cookie, Vietnamese coffee and a caramel cappuccino. Everything was perfect. This is totally the place to enjoy a nice cold or hot beverage and pastry with your bestie. We were here in February and we had so much fun together. We talked and there’s a water station and great seating options. Everything so nice here. We will definitely be back soon! 555 star review
