Ridiculously high price for bakery items!! By the pound! I barely had 10 items of which consisted of concha’s and a few cookies! $18 later and waited in line for almost 40 mins! Never again!

Parking isn't great but food makes up for it. First time trying their tamales. Plenty of meat, masa has a great taste. Taste even better reheated.

Bad… The bread in cake was dry and hard… the banana was brown and tasted past due… cool whip frosting was overwhelmingly sweet… not good…

The owner of the place tells the employees that if we don't like the letter as they write on the cake that Ella's is very sad, he tells me to find another place, according to the owner's instructions. Now how is it correct to write on the cake like Spaghetti letters or put another name in front of the birthday boy's name! I have been buying cakes frequently from Ybarras for years, but the more time passes, the more disputed they are and the poorer service they have. Maybe here in the Valley there are many places, and apart from that, they have good attitude. As soon as they come here they will still feel the difference. But I don't give my money to rude people and even less to an owner who doesn't give a damn.

The tamales were dry and lacking flavor. Also the filling was practically not there.I think those who love the place are locals who don’t have many options of where to buy tamales from. Not impressed and disappointed in wasting cash on them.

El dueño de el lugar le dice a los empleados que si no nos gusta la letra como escriben en el pastel que Ella's con mucha pena , me avisa que me busque otro lugar , instrucciones del dueño . Ahora como es corecto que escriban en el pastel como letras de Spaghetti o poner otro nombre enfrente del nombre de el cumplañero ! Este lugar llo llevo años comprando pastels frequentamente de ybarras pero entre mas pasa el tiempo mas chotiado y mas mal servicio tienen , igual aqui en el Valle hay muchos lugares y aparte con bueno attitud . Asi como van aqui pronto an de sentir la diferencia . pero mi Dinero no se lo doy a la gente grocera y menos de un dueño que ni la cara da .

I've read about 20 reviews, and many of them mention that the bakery looks dirty and run-down. People also complain that the staff isn't friendly. Personally, I'm not expecting a warm welcome, I just want to buy good quality tamales and bread. It's common for bakeries to weigh bread, so I don't see why people are complaining about it. I've always been satisfied with the consistent quality and I will definitely be going back.

Went today 06/23/24, pick up a dozen pork Tamles, ate just 5 and all day having stomach issues and threw up twice.

Drove from Corpus Christi to Weslaco because we had heard from multiple individuals that Ybarra’s Tamales were very good, that they were better than its competitor. First of all when we arrived, the entrance to the place was bad looking, looks dirty, no attractiveness what so ever. Secondly, the service was horrible, not friendly whatsoever, not a smile, customer service is horrible and very unfriendly atmosphere. Never again will we even think of Ybarra’s Tamales. So sad when we were getting sweet bread, we were told that the bread is weighed, how ridiculous, never heard of sweet bread being weighed. BAD, BAD EXPERIENCE. We quickly went to Delia’s Tamales in Pharr, Texas .

I went this morning to order a cake and when I went to the counter, the lady dismissed me and helped another person! I will never order or buy anything from there again and will be posting it on facebook on the bad customer service I had!
