My father was born in West, and I pretty much grew up there. The Czech American Restaurant in West, and their food reminds me of my grandmothers cooking. Their food brings back a lot of childhood memories.
Try the sausage, sauerkraut, with potatoes and cabbage rolls. You'll not be disappointed.

A nice small town cafe. Get your Czech food here. Enjoy party of the heritage of Texas. The building is quite old, lots of locals, good food. Get off the highway and enjoy a sit- down meal.
We really enjoyed the authenticity and flavors of this unique restaurant. My husband had the combo platter and I had chicken and dumplings. The server, Adylin, was wonderful and treated us like family. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is a hidden treasure!

When did y’all start serving cabbage rolls in a bowl, like soup? It was good, but was more soupy/liquidy, than what I’ve ordered in the past. More like cabbage roll soup, than actual cabbage rolls. Also the Czech fries tasted like canned potatoes, this recent visit. The slaw, and cucumber salad were both excellent.

The kraut is the best I've had and I come from the Czech Slovak Capitol of the USA. I always have dessert but this time I had no room for dessert. My wife gave me a spoonful of her root beer ice cream that is made at the restaurant; it deserves it's own 5 stars. They said their most popular was the Big Red ice cream. The pies looked great, I just had no more room. We came back the next day shortly after they closed. We only wanted ice cream so they took care of us. Thank you!
