I had the Asado de Puerco. Their version has bones. I know the version with bones is supposed to have more flavor, but I would probably not order it again. Everything else was delicious. The service was great.

The food is always great. My wife had egg and bacon tacos. I had the carne a la Mexicana.

Parking: At the restaurant street parking is only available. The restaurant is located on the courthouse square. If the court is in session parking will have to be done at a free parking lot a block over.

Wheelchair accessibility: The sidewalks are raised. Access to the sidewalks is available at either end or at a ramp halfway between the corners.
The restaurant has a raised area. The majority of seating is on the regular area.

Big Dave's Tactical & Survival

Not the best Mexican food ... actually more Tex Mex heavy on the Tex ... if you have read our reviews before you know the big thing David goes by is chips & salsa - the chips were very hard and salsa more like hot ketchup. Our server did bring hotter stuff out in squeeze bottles. The green was pretty good. The red made the salsa better. Our dinner was just average.

What a wonderful family restaurant. Next time I’m in town I’ll be back. Loved the Barbacoa tacos with homemade corn tortillas.

This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Wharton. The foods authentic and the staff is very nice and friendly here. I like that it's family owned.
