VERY DISAPPOINTED! My boyfriend made plans for us to have dinner at Hildee's for New Year's Eve. He spoke to them twice on the phone and was never told that it was a set menu at $120 per person! Since we drove 45 mins to get there, we decided to stay even though we weren't happy with the cost. To start things off, they were out of Pinot Grigio and Coke. IT'S NEW YEAR'S EVE! You should have popular drinks like this available. Secondly, the portions were SO small it didn't fill either of us up. Everything was sliver size, including the dessert. We had Christmas dinner at a beautiful five-star resort in San Antonio, which was an explosive buffet including all the crab, shrimp, salads, meats, sides, desserts, etc., you could eat, and that was only $75 per person. This was price gouging at it's worse. The food was just okay, certainly not worth the money. We won't be going back again. Major fail, Hildee's.

Service and food were excellent. We sat at the bar, and we're given top notch service on top of them non stop making drunks.
We went in after the lunch rush and had incredible service from a very present young lady that is an expert at her job! Food was excellent - both hot and cold dishes. Parking was a breeze and allowed us to stay there while shopping on the street. Will definitely be back after this experience!
Parking: Park for the restaurant and stay to shop!

Don’t sit in an enclosed booth. They take your order then forget you exist.
Hildee's Restaurant Review: An Exquisite Culinary Experience
Hildee's recently provided me with an unforgettable dining experience, and I highly recommend it to fellow food enthusiasts. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting, and the service was impeccable.
Our culinary journey began with the red fish, which was cooked to perfection. It was light, flakey, and bursting with flavor. The accompanying sauce complemented the fish beautifully, enhancing its natural taste.
Next, we savored their signature Tomato Pie, and it was truly a revelation. The crust was exquisitely crafted - golden, crispy, and flaky. The filling was a medley of fresh, vibrant flavors that danced on the palate. It was an innovative and delicious dish that left us wanting more.
To accompany our meal, we indulged in a Hendricks Gin Martini, which was expertly shaken, not stirred. It was the perfect balance of dryness and botanicals, a classic cocktail executed flawlessly.
No meal is complete without dessert, and Hildee's did not disappoint. Their dessert selection was a tempting array of sweet treats, each more enticing than the last. We opted for the dessert, and it was the perfect finale for our meal.
Overall, Hildee's provided a memorable dining experience. The food was exquisite, the service was attentive, and the ambiance was charming. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a culinary adventure.

Such a bummer that the service sucked so bad b/c the atmosphere and location are amazing! Food was ok…. Unfortunately they were out of crab so the crab dip was a no go…. However it was totally fine to serve me a ceviche sans advertised crap for $19. After waiting forever for the first person ( out of SO many staff) to get to us he barely spoke! Im sorry but a server needs to be able to communicate with the table. After an unbelievably long time we got our drinks which were less than impressive for the price tag. Mimosa should have some OJ in it no? Anyhow…. The experience would likely be better if the service were even close to the Chic-FIL-a drive thru! I would usually not be this rude or upset but it was $142 for the 3 of us and we were never addressed by anyone other than our painfully slow server…. Didn’t even get a fill on waters! So disappointed!

Got there at noon.. got little to no service until about 4pm, when sift change happened. The post 4pm shift was much more professional, although it took a long time to get a coke!
The hostess during the 11am to 4pm shift blamed the waiter for the in-excitant service!
We ended up spending +$200
Gave a generous tip to the post 4pm shift waiter who did a great job! Just know that the afternoon shift is staffed with untrained staff.

We were out riding headed to the hill country and stopped in. Sat in the bar area and my friends had cocktails. Bartender made good drinks and very friendly.

Hildee's is very upscale as a dining facility in a little town that just wants good food and choices. We went in on a Saturday around 12:30pm. They only had a brunch menu. That surprised me because I'm used to Brunch being a Sunday event. We were looking forward to lunch, but the only lunch item was a hamburger. It was a juicy and flavorful $21.00 hamburger with....salty chips! I wanted wine, but again, not much of a choice unless you were willing to spend 15 to 20 for a glass or upwards of 120 for unfamiliar wines. The restaurant is lovely and the staff were attentive but we would have been happier going to a cafe where I could have had a lovely salad.

Wow.. just wow.. I'm a foodie of the first order. One of my best friends of 18 years is a celebrity chef, and I have been very fortunate to get to have some amazing meals all over the world. Hill Country has always been quite short on culinary innovation, hell, almost all of central Texas caters to a more mild palate and to people who haven't had the craft of a chef who doesn't believe he needs to cook just like everyone else to get by.
That changed this morning with our visit to Hildee's. We accidentally arrived before open and Chef was outside prepping the front of the house for the morning. He literally stopped and welcomed us into the restaurant, walked us in and made sure we were seated. Impressed.
We started with the deviled egg Choux, which was served over frisee, and had just the right blend of spice and the Gribiche was literally perfect. Just enough yolk to set off the spice. Impressed again. Next was the Lox - smoked with Hibiscus? I was skeptical, and was totally proved wrong.. delicate, sweet, just enough smoke, it was too good. My 5yo ate more than half..
Im keto, and made it a cheat meal because the bread was so delicious smelling I couldnt help myself, so I jumped in was th both feet and ordered the chicken fried steak - Bison steak mind you! It had a perfectly over medium egg ( test your chef!) the crust was incredible, so light and fluffy, not a trace of the heaviness you find when the kitchen sets the protein in flour for 45 minutes vs a chef prepared proper egg wash and batter. Truly impressed at this point. My 5yo had an off menu item that combined the hard crust of a hot skillet with the perfect timing to keep the very center super moist and tender.
The best part? The price. Two apps, coffee, two juice boxes, the most expensive entree and another adult sized entree and it was less than $40 per person (not including my toddler who ate off the other plates) I'm a big guy, 6' 240lbs, and I couldn't finish my entree.
You can for sure eat greasy spoon food for less, but for the quality and care that our meal was sourced, prepared and presented, not a chance. They absolutely are not charging enough for what you get.
Chef and team, thank you for a fantastic meal and fantastic service, it was a real treat!
Can't wait to get to come back for dinner and drinks!

It's a cute spot with friendly service. We ordered the steak and chicken biscuit from the lunch menu, and both were delicious.
