what a great little restaurant off the beaten path!
6 of us ate for under $100 which is almost unheard of now a days.

Ordered a medium rare steak on the Gene's special came out well done like shoe leather Didn't have any Heinz 57 Brother ordered chicken enchiladas and tacos Didn't put cheese on the tacos Enchiladas had like hormel chili on them (NASTY) They charge for extra chips and salsa (learned that from past visit) Then you go to check out (the owner didn't even have the ticket (attempted to charge what she wanted I called her out on it ) I told her I wanted to see the menu the server brought us She said she didn't know where a menu was She had some kind of list and tried to over charge ( over all experience was -10) Then she asked me where I was from I told her I live right around the corner and have lived in Winters about 5 yrs) She just couldn't believe I didn't enjoy my food (Maybe Health Dept needs to do a major inspection) I will turn her into the Better Business Bureau!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!!

If you are looking for Mexican & American food, this place has always have good food for a very long time. I normally get the burrito of meat, bean & cheese. They had a special today of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, toast and a small salad. I ordered this for lunch. Everything in it was delicious including my burrito for later snack. It stays hot when you pick it up. You get more for your money. The owner is super nice. The wait took a little long which I didn’t mind because they are short staffed and they are looking to hire. Easier to call ahead if you are picking up your food. If you are driving through Winters, do stop by to visit them. You won’t be disappointed. They are the first restaurant you will see when you enter the city from Abilene/Tuscola highway 83.
