We went to the Gin in Wortham Texas today for lunch. We got thee about 12, it took us 2 hours before we got anything that looked like food. It was four of us, I ordered the burger of the month and the other people all ordered hamburger steak. However it took forever! They brought the salads, then brought out a bowl with lettuce on.bottom and a hamburger patty on top, mind you I ordered the “ hamburger of the month” not a bowl. The waitress kept walking by I’m sucking air out of my straw hoping she would hear, but she didn’t I had ask her to get me water. Finally they come out with two hamburger steaks and didn’t get theirs persons steak out only brought his onion rings. When the manager was asked for, she came and her attitude was so nonchalant. She went to the wrong table with the steak sat it in front of the other customer, then came to our table and put it in front our Freon’s. He said no, you can take that off my bill, I don’t want it. She said okay. Nothing about being sorry or anything not trying to fox things. We said we won’t be back, she didn’t seem to care. I have eaten here before, the food was good m, but don’t care how good the food is, the customer service was very poor. They just lost 4 good customers!

Usually order brunch on Sundays. Ordered the omelette but they forgot the hash browns. I always order the child’s French toast as well. Got a slab of toast on my omelette. Had to ask why I didn’t get the 2nd entree with the fruit, syrup, whipped cream and bacon. I don’t think I will be getting brunch again.

Nice modern restaurant in a cute small town. The patio was absolutely decked out with comfy chairs and bug tvs. We never sit outside doors but its worth it here. The girls gave up excellent service and they seemed busy for dinner on a Monday. The make your own margaritas was in point. The food was absolutely perfect.

Horrible service. Party of 12 on a slow Wednesday night for a birthday dinner & took hour to get food, food staggered 3 people 10 min apart. One of our people the server forgot to take her order & then she got her meal 30 min after everyone else & it was just a baked potato. I asked for the manager because we were all dry of drinks for 30 min & she didn't come out and apologize at all for the inconvenience. The server made a smart remark her managers helping her. To begin with she never brought my two kids their drinks. For 20 min outside they were with out their drinks. The serve was no where to be found the entire shift. If this place could be rated 0 stars for service that would be it.

Great spot for families, indoor and outdoor seating. We arrived after several tables had just sat and had to wait a while for a table, so can be done wait time to sit or get food if they are overwhelmed. Food was hot, (chicken fried steak) and tastes great, but they have got to work on their lemonade, sweet tea was much better. Overall a great spot in the area.
We came to The Old Gin for Valentine’s Dinner Date night, and they were super busy! All staff was kind and in a good mood. Kris at the front keep us up to date on our wait, and our waitress Emily got our order correct and the food was fantastic. Will be back

Probably one of the best places to eat near Mexia. Sometimes the service can be terrible but overall great atmosphere and food. Just don’t order the chili it’s can Hormell chili with some cheese and the new pizzas are all bread.
