Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

I've always liked Café Rio, but a recent experience from the owner/management has soured me. They recently had a company party at Olive Garden, spending 2+ hours there, ordering food and drinks totaling $770 and they LEFT NO TIP! This is unacceptable behavior! The servers - some who are struggling college students - actually lost money taking care of this party!! I know for a fact they received great service and to treat people this way, especially other food service people, is terrible. This has soured me and I will not be choosing to eat there in the future unless they decide to make this right.

I love cafe Rio, let me start with that. I come here often for lunch, and I typically just get a kids meal since I don’t eat a lot of food. I’m also not one to write reviews but I am just concerned. There has been 3 times I’ve ordered a kids meal, and have had bones inside the quesadilla. They’re small enough for a child to choke on. I almost choked on the first one, and thank goodness I check my meals for them since. I understand that meat and bones, yes, but for this to have happened 3 times, in a kids meal?! I’m just thankful these bones didn’t end up in a small child’s meal and rather ended up in mine. Right on top too, where staff could notice and toss it out. I’ve attached a photo of the most recent time. All I’m saying is maybe take more care when putting these together. The kids portions are tiny, and a bone like this is very noticeable. Not only that could be an injury/lawsuit waiting to happen. Especially in a small child’s meal.

I had a great experience at the Cafe Rio in Bountiful! The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you’d hope for from their menu—especially the sweet pork burrito, which was delicious. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the visit feel welcoming. Overall, a great spot for a tasty meal with a warm atmosphere.

$14 for this bowl, asked for double rice and super skimpy portions. Second time this has happened here. What the hell is going on? I’m done with this location.

Just had the best experience here. The guy who made my salad is literally the most smiley cheerful guy I may have ever met. The lady ringing me up also threw in a drink for free! Not sure what the occasion was but these guys who were working today are awesome, 10/10 🙌

I ordered lots, had a very specific order, e.g. extra queso, light on sauce, add this, add that, And they didn’t skimp.

They read the order, they followed and delivered.. I love Cafe Rio food, but I love Customer Service, even more, regardless of what restaurant you’re in. Thanks for kicking ass.

Be careful ordering online for this store! I placed an online order and the food was not ready at the time it said it would be. I waited in the store for about 15 minutes, and then I talked to the cashier and they said that they were working on the order. However, the food was not ready after another 15 minutes. It didn’t seem like they knew how to juggle the in person orders with the online orders. I had to leave, and there was no indication that they had even begun on my food, so I left without anything. The online refund process is a huge hassle, so you definitely want to avoid ordering online or on the app.
