I went there around 11 am. I was seated right away. The waitress came right over. While polite she was clearly talking down to me.
I left 20 on the table for her. The bill was 25 and change. I handed her a 50 and she then asked if I needed any change back. I reminded her the tip was on the table.
Overall the food gets my rating of digestible at best.

El matador has greatly improved in the past year or so and is back to its quality from when I was a kid. It's definitely americanized Mexican but it's done right. The chile verde is in my opinion the best thing to get there and is one of the best chile verdes I've ever had. The veracruz combo is also an excellent choice, it comes with two large fried shrimp, a taco which you should sub for the shredded beef it's so good and two enchiladas. The chips are a little meh, but the salsa is good if you like a classic canning style salsa. For dessert don't pass on the sopaipillas they are delicious they have a basket of bite size ones you can share with the table drizzled in honey butter. The service from the staff was also incredible.

The people are just amazing! The atmosphere is bright and happy. The food is great and the service is wonderful here. People are friendly and the manager is present with you if you have a problem. And they fix their mistakes quickly and try to make it better for you. I love this place and I would recommend it to anyone.

Went to El Matador tonight. I ordered the Mamacita and put their chili Verde over the top of my burrito. It was excellent but more importantly the service was five star. I rarely do this but when a server goes above and beyond it’s worth the shout out Carson really took care of us.! The service was fast and the refills were in front of us before we asked for them. Thanks Carson for taking care of us. If you go there, ask for Carson’s section.
