I came to this restaurant one time the outside look like it was going to be a good restaurant then I got inside. I waited a while for about 30 minutes. I was seated. I looked at the menu and the prices were outrageously high! I thought wow this food must be really good, right yuk , YUK , YUK! I don’t even remember what I tried. That’s how bad it was. I just wanted to forget it. The whole experience was awful. We waited so long to get our food and when it finally arrived, we ate it because we were hungry. We in between wash it down with our room temperature water. DONT EVER COME HERE !

The minute I saw the wall honoring the very white owners of this restaurant, I knew we were in for a ride. My partner, who is Chinese American, already experienced racism from one of the restaurant patrons when she assumed he worked there because he held the door open for her. That should’ve been our first sign to get the hell outta there. Here are my main points after eating here:

1. Using Chinese art, language, etc., including making their waiters wear traditional Chinese garb, to create an “authentic” environment makes eating here even worse. My partner felt very uncomfortable with his culture being paraded around as a way to make white people money off shitty food.

2. Cultural appropriation aside, the food quality was worse than Panda Express, for 3x the price. The rice was boiled and strained, the char shu was overcooked and dry, and the portions were small and flavorless. I’ve never had such bland chicken before. You also had to pay extra for the rice and they also had very few accommodations for people with allergies.

3. The waiter, Harlem, was very sweet and attentive to our needs. They don’t deserve any hate. They were the only good part of our experience here.

Really bad all the way around. Hostess station is chaotic and rude. Got sat waited and hour and a half for food and it came out cold. Rice was crunchy. They overcharged us and I pointed it out and they didnt remove it and still charged us anyway. Worst dining experience I've had in a really long time.

Certainly not authentic Chinese food, but pretty decent American Chinese food, maybe 1/2 step above P.F. Chang’s. Is it worth the hype or a long wait, idk, but it wasn’t a bad place for a slightly elevated Chinese dinner. They take reservations.

I definitely recommend making a reservation but its always worth the wait! Food is amazing, best egg rolls out there. Haven't found a dish we don't like yet.

We placed a takeout order on a Thursday night at 615. They told us it would be ready at 645 . 730 rolls around and we were still waiting. FOURTY FIVE minutes for takeout is absolutely ridiculous.

I usually like to give myself some time before writing a review, but I’m sitting in the parking lot of Mandrin right now, feeling disappointed by how this situation was handled and needing to share the experience.

We ordered four dishes to-go, one of which was the Chicken Soong Imperial Wraps. When we got home and began eating, we were genuinely enjoying the meal—it was excellent, up to a point. However, about a quarter of the way through, we discovered a bug in the dish. After that, we couldn’t continue eating.

I brought the entire order back to the restaurant, hoping for a full refund and to give them a chance to make things right. They offered to remake the affected dish, which I declined—we were too put off to eat. I asked for a refund for the full order, but they would only refund the single dish where the bug was found. I clarified and was told that was all they were willing to do.

I’m not a confrontational person, so I left without arguing further. But I’m frustrated. The rest of our food—touched by this experience—will unfortunately go to waste. I don’t feel this was handled fairly, and I hope Mandrin chooses to follow up and make this right.

It was a good experience. Called 10 minutes ahead and was seated immediately upon arrival. Quality food. Great presentation. Many items other restaurants include were an additional cost. Wasn’t expecting to pay extra for white rice/ham fried rice. $75 for 2 with tip.

The restaurant we consider to be the absolute best restaurant we have ever been too. We especially enjoy the lemon chicken, but everything is spectacular! I say “we” as everyone in our immediate and extended family has expressed the same sentiment! We wish this restaurant was a chain as we no longer live in the area.
