Nielsen's Frozen Custard (Bountiful)

They were nice enough. Took at least 20 min to get ice cream. You do get a large portion, but it only includes 1 add in. And they added maybe 10 bite size pieces of brownie at the top and not mixed in. Definitely not enough for the pint sized cup.

I have fond memories of getting the maraschino cherry concrete about 10 years ago. I'm happy to report that it tastes exactly the same as I remember and that it is still excellent.

There's a reason the line is wrapped around the building. Best. Concrete. Ever. Run don't walk to the frozen treat in Bountiful.

I’ve been a fan of Nielsen’s since 1990. The custard is the smoothest, creamiest frozen treat I’ve ever had! I’ve been to Ted Drewes in St. Louis and Andy’s in Tennessee and lots of places in Utah, and Nielsen’s really is the best.

The place is swamped on Saturday nights, so there’s a wait. (They have lots of employees though to try and combat that.) And it’s really noisy when the machines are running. So be prepared. The Bountiful store doesn’t have a lot of parking but the South Jordan and St. George ones do. I haven’t been to the others.

This piece of glass was in my caramel cashew. I got it on 8/16 from Bountiful in a pre-packaged pint with “CC 05/08” written on the bottom. I’ve NEVER had anything bad like this before there. Definitely an anomaly.

Very good ice cream. Well worth the wait, but that would be my only snag. The wait. If you aren’t in a rush, this is a good place to stop for some dessert, otherwise I would avoid it. We got in the drive thru line and almost 40 minutes later got our ice cream. We only ordered one so I can’t imagine having a bigger order. Also it was almost $9 for just one small concrete Ice cream…yikes.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! they got my order wrong and I nicely asked for them to remake it correctly because they were busy. They said they would not give us a new one because “it looks like there is a bite out of it” which was NOT true! They also said we need to repay for the extra toppings after we paid previously for it. The manager was completely rude and even other people went in and tried to reason with him. I WILL NEVER go back after being treated so horribly. It sucks because I’ve heard great things but WILL NEVER be treated that way. the manager should be fired!!!

Everyone is wearing gloves... & it didn't appear they ever change them. One server took order outside to drive thru - using door handle on way in & out, then proceeded to high-five a friend, & continued back to food prep - ALL WEARING THE SAME GLOVES! 🤮
Similar problem at register, person handling charge cards & cash with gloves, touching register screen, having food prep people touching SAME screen to help ring up. None ever changed gloves. The contamination cross over is horrible & I did not finish my meal.
In desperate need of training & education about food handling. Custard may be good, not worth price of eating there.

Avocado and cream cheese grinder is absolutely delicious. Lemon custard amazing. Everything is so fresh and employees are very friendly. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

I’m giving Nielsons 4/5 stars because it really is that good! I would give it 5 but I found a hair in my concrete so 4 it is. I’d still probably recommend it but it’s going to be a while before I go back…..
