Nielsen's Frozen Custard (Bountiful)

Bountiful, everything was awesome, but we didn't get napkins. So we had to use Kleenexes for our sandwiches.

They have drive thru and dine-in service. Usually a lot of energetic teenagers running the store. Great 50's diner vibe. The custard concrete is thick and delicious. The drive through pick up parking spaces are a little hectic but provided a beautiful view of the valley 🤩.

They have lots of flavors and it's worth an have treat.

The custard was incredibly smooth, and flavorful. The malt option was a nice touch in my Choco Chip Cookie Dough Concrete (which was loaded with ample amounts of cookie dough mix-ins). The only con was all the noise from the machines made talking and ordering a little bit difficult. I'll be back :)

Food was fantastic. I believe I had an Oreo and cookies and cream shake and it's easily the best shake I've ever had. Service was really great as well. Only things that may be brought up an eyebrow was how loud it was because of what I'm assuming was the ice cream machines. Crazy loud! The menu fell overwhelming and glad this service folks were there. To help clarify, but overall would recommend this place. It's a popular place get there before 5:00

Usually love Nielsens but seems like they can’t keep things clean or even change their gloves very often anymore. I give my card in the drive through and it comes back all sticky. The ice cream comes melting down the side of the cup with no napkins. Spoons are all sticky. The carrier the ice cream was brought in is all sticky at the handle. Seems like it all comes from the workers getting ice cream all over their gloves and not changing them. When this happens once or twice it’s not a big deal but this is literally every time afternoon or night for the last 6 or 7 times we’ve gone.

I went here tonight to treat myself and my dog. I tried the walk up window and waited at least 5 minutes until anyone acknowledged me, to the point I questioned if they were even taking orders there. The manager was literally on the computer facing me and didn’t acknowledge me, I was making eye contact with them through the window. When someone finally acknowledged me, I ordered and asked for a pup cup and they looked at me like I was insane and had no idea what I was talking about. I mentioned that the other Nielsens I’ve been too have all had pup cups. I asked if I could get a small sample bc she doesn’t need an entire cup but the only option was a $3 scoop. My sundae barely had any ice cream in it and was basically just a cup of fudge and caramel. The toppings weren’t very good either, and I regret not asking them to redo it because I ultimately threw most of it away. Good thing I paid for an entire cup of ice cream for my dog so I could use some for mine. The group who came a couple minutes after me were served right away. It probably isn’t worth complaining as the manager was part of the problem.

Pretty good burger and shake joint. Concrete ice cream is very unique. Very thick but smooth know what i'm sayin?

Their concrete icecream is the bomb. Love the oreo and cookies n cream.

Burgers and fries are also good. For fast food i'd say it's like a 8/10, but the ice cream is the main reason we visit.

Only complaint i'd have is one time one of our burgers had what seemed like a rock, or a piece of tile grout in it or something. It was rock hard, almost broke a tooth, and chipped apart just like a piece of masonry would.

I've worked in fast food tho, luckily didn't have damage to the tooth, so kinda sucked for that meal. But out of the 100+ visits, that was the only complaint i've had. So overall, mostly perfect experiences. Would still highly recommend.

This is a fantastic family-friendly affordable night out. There are so many options to choose from and it truly is that small town comfort staple. We went there last night and my heart sank a bit when I realized I can no longer eat there. They use latex gloves to prep food and handle the registers. I have a severe latex allergy so even coming into contact with latex can kill me. I'm truly disappointed because we moved close by a couple months ago and I was really looking forward to this being my go-to for a quick family night out.

The frozen custard is the BEST. We like the vanilla so much that we haven’t explored beyond! It’s a very popular place here in Bountiful.

They were nice enough. Took at least 20 min to get ice cream. You do get a large portion, but it only includes 1 add in. And they added maybe 10 bite size pieces of brownie at the top and not mixed in. Definitely not enough for the pint sized cup.

I have fond memories of getting the maraschino cherry concrete about 10 years ago. I'm happy to report that it tastes exactly the same as I remember and that it is still excellent.
