This is the BEST frozen custard. It actually tastes like custard and not like soft-serve.

We love the vibe of the old fashioned diner. The patio is great and the “concrete” custards keep us coming back.

I am not the biggest fan of custard. Nielsen's won me over. Their vanilla concrete with strawberries was delicious! Still not a fan of chocolate custard, but vanilla with strawberries was worth having again.

Have had some pretty good burgers shakes and fries here, but getting my order wrong every single time I’ve been here has left a sour taste. So if you’re particular about your food like “extra pickles - no tomato” , might want to try someplace else, if the experience is what you’re after, the custard is great.
Edit - if you’re lucky enough to get a manager to take your order, the service is 10/10!!!! Edit from 2 to 4 stars!

I ordered a grilled cheese with onions and a French fry and waited for over 20 minutes. I received a grilled cheese without onions and a kiddie fry with 10 cold soggy fries in it instead. $7 down the drain.

It breaks my heart to leave a bad review but I didn't have a good experience tonight. I went to the drive through and parked to wait for my food. I waited for a little over 10 min and my burger and fries weren't hot. The fries had been out under the heat lamp a long time, they were not fresh at all. I'm hoping it's just a fluke, but I'll think twice before coming again.

We came here by recommendation and the first time we came lived up to the expectations! However, we have been back 4 times since and EVERY TIME the fries are soggy and barely cooked. I even asked for them to be well done and they still came out soggy and nasty. It was so bad my 13 yr old didn’t like them (and she likes soggy fries). Please fix this issue before you lose a family that loves coming to Nielsens!!

The allergen information is literally impossible to find, the cashiers don’t have any useful information either. The pints don’t have ingredients lists, the boxes which do are stuck in the basement and inaccessible. The website is a mess, it feels like they’re actively hiding it. It needs to be easily accessible, posted on the menu at the window preferably. I’ve heard so much hype about this place only to take my partner and find that he cannot eat anything without risking a night in the hospital. This was insane. The kitchen is also visibly and disconcertingly filthy, the workers don’t have hair tied back, they seemed to be getting frustrated with our questions… wild. Ice cream is a solid 5/10.

very dismissive about food allergies and my plain concern to eat and not die.
None of the menu or even PRE-PACKAGED ITEMS had ingredient labels. even when i asked them to check their stuff they said it wasnt labeled.
As far as i can tell, there is No Gluten free items. do NOT come here as a celiac :(
