Ordered a reuben to go and got home to find a tiny bit of meat and a pile of sauerkraut on dry bread and that’s it…. Took them 10+ minutes to make that. (I figured it was taking a long time for a good reason.. my mistake lol.) No cheese, no dressing, etc… for a sandwich shop that’s incredibly disappointing and embarrassing. Money and time down the drain. Now some of the other negative reviews (and the lack of owner response) make more sense.

I love this place but when the quiet kid in the glasses makes your sandwich it turns out as a sloppy mess that tastes half as good and when anyone else there makes it. I’m truly disappointed every time that kid makes my sandwich. Get rid of him and my review would be 5 stars

I was in need of a sandwich pick me up and spankys delivered. Reasonable prices for thick sandwiches. An 8 inch did me in. I was glad they have sprouts which are one of my favorite things on a sandwich and are really hard to find around here. Very fresh, soft bread, yummy. Maybe some other homemade sauces would really set this place apart.

I have eaten here many times over the years. The sandwiches are always fresh and made on the spot. It's an old-fashioned shop with a fountain drink machine. I like the lemon, cherries, and syrups that you can add to your soda. The price is good, about $8.00 for an eight inch sandwich. Make it a combo with a soda, chips and cookie for less than $3.00.
The bread on my sandwich was dry today, but the made it again for me and apologized. The bread is normally soft and very good.
Lemme tell ya somethin’, capisce? I don’t hand out compliments easy. But Spanky’s? This joint’s got the kinda Philly steak that makes a guy feel like he’s back on South Street, no lie. The meat’s sliced thin like it oughta be, the roll’s got that crunch-to-chew ratio only the real pros know, and the toppins? Fuggedaboutit… perfection. I’d whack a guy for less than this sandwich, but for Spanky’s? I’d die happy. Five stars, no questions asked.

This place is a cross contamination disaster waiting to happen. Some employees are great, the younger ones, not so much. Not changing gloves between touching the register and making sandwiches. Using the same knife to cut multiple sandwiches. Basic things that are suppose to be taught when you get a food handler’s permit. The food itself is good quality, portions are on the smaller side, price is reasonable but don’t recommend if you have allergies or sensitivities.

I want to publicly thank Tammy for the fabulous “picnic “ she prepared for our family outing. I ordered six different sandwiches and she cut them into 4 -inch little sandwiches. She wrapped each one in fun red and white paper, and labeled each one. It was so easy to hand a child/adult a sandwich, while we were boating. I have known that Spanky’s had fresh, delicious food, for years, but didn’t realize they could prepare 4 inch sandwiches. They are so convenient when feeding a group; especially on a boat. Thank you, Tammy and Spanky’s!
