We have eaten here a few times and it's good food. Just had a not great experience with an online order not going right and the staff being helpful, and a little rude.
I put in a deal on the app that was supposed to give 2 meals + chips&queso + 2 drinks for 20 dollars. I added everything and it was coming out to 32 dollars that it was going to charge me, so I admittedly, mistakenly thought that the chips and queso and drinks must be added on with me having put in the coupon code, so I took those items off. It came out to 20 dollars, plus the kids meal I ordered, with the coupon active so I thought it was all good.
I get there and they give me my food, but no chips & queso or drinks. So I asked them about it, seeing as in my eyes I had put it into the app. They told me it wasn't on the receipt, so they couldn't give it to me. They brought the manager in, and I walked her through what I did. It turns out that it all fell apart in the app because I put in the regular chip instead of the large and that's why the discount didn't take originally. Seemingly this whole thing was cleared up, the app wasn't super well defined and clear, I admit I made a mistake in doing everything, but in the end I paid the same amount in the app that I would have had the deal worked well, so I figured that alongside this very reasonable explanation that we could work it out, I've been to other places where this very easily would have been rectified without an issue and they would have honored the special, unfortunately that's not the case here.
The manager was very very adamant not to help us given the weird situation, and only after persistence did she offer to give me the small chips and queso and no drinks, despite me having paid the same amount either way. She was also just a tad abrasive and unfriendly during the ordeal, which was again very disappointing. We come here fairly often and have liked it in the past, it was just disappointing to see the way management handled a customer issue, and I was left unhappy with how it was handled. It also didn't help that when we got there the manager was taking a call on her cell phone, and I had to wait for what seemed like a personal call for her help to begin with. It doesn't come across well.
All that to say, food is good, but don't expect to resolve issues very easily if you have them.

UPDATE!!! January 2026 review (5 stars)
This is a story or redemption! Last August, we visited this Cafe Rio (original review below). We are back in Brigham City visiting family and we were told that Cafe Rio is under new management. Whether that is true or not, is irrelevant—what matters is our experience was WAY improved. Friendly staff, order correct, and food delicious. Happy to report a turn around when I can. I know this particular location started off on the wrong foot (and the current 3.3 review average shows it), but I believe in second chances. Well done, Cafe Rio Brigham City team!

Aug 2025 (original review - 2 stars) — I’m a big fan of the brand, but this particular store really left something to be desired. Confused through the drive thru….had to take our order twice…messed up the order…forgot to give us forks, napkins, etc. Forgot to give us our drink (had to remind them). The workers seemed nice enough, but really struggled.

This location has struggled with being able to consistently make quality Cafe Rio food that made them famous! Last night was great.....food was great , service was great! They need more people through the doors so they can keep it going! I hope they can keep it up!

Multiple empty tables that were dirty, food was not right after specific directions. No napkins or forks out for customers, had to help myself and other customers to find napkins and forks. Very disappointing
Extremely rude staff. I asked for a salad the girl made a burrito and then got mad at me when I said I actually ordered a salad. I told her I can’t have the rice and tortilla because I’m diabetic and she yelled at me and said “well I didn’t know!” Which of course she couldn’t know. I apologized for the confusion and asked if she could just give me meat and beans and she continued to be defensive and rude. I decided to leave and didn’t even get food she was so rude. The rest of the staff watched on and said nothing. They allowed the behavior. If you would like to be treated with respect, go somewhere else.
They obviously don’t know how to cook they over cook stuff or undercooked it. There’s no in between under the drink. Station is absolutely filthy. Nothing is cleaned. Disgusting. The owner needs to step down or something.

Tortillas were overcooked and stale to the point of snapping at the edges, most of the available 'fresh mexican food' choices looked left out for long periods of times: somewhat shriveled and discolored limes with bits of other food on them, guac that was grayish brown, overcooked/stale tortilla strips, etc. Had to ask if I could get Fresh limes. Luckily service was quick, depite being the Only customer in the store.

No forks were given in our drive through purchase. No pico on anything. So frustrating to show up to our destination with no way to eat our food!

They will ALWAYS get your order wrong if it's online. And not even the corn tortillas are gluten free; they contain wheat flour, apparently. Unsafe even for those with gluten sensitivities, and very misleading.

Well this one cafe Rio employee refuses to let me use the rewards I have rightfully earned on my cafe Rio app. I come here very often and find it an amazing place to eat but the employees attitude toward me when I try and redeem the points so I can save some money just makes it hard to want to come. If you are going to the Brigham city cafe Rio be aware that 2 of the girl workers are very strict and intense about not letting you use points to get food even without a legal reason. If we weren’t supposed to use the points the app wouldn’t exist.

So basically I went in the establishment to order a bowl because I had a 5 dollar off coupon. Once I got to the register this entitled cashier told me that they didn’t accept that anymore. Then once I asked for a water cup she said in this bratty voice that it was one dollar and eight cents I didn’t hear her the first time so I asked again and she raised her voice at me. Then I asked these people sitting next to me why did u pay for that water cup it is very overpriced then they proceed to say it was free. This made me very outraged and furious because she judged me by appearance and for using a five dollar coupon.
