Lucky to be one of the last groups to have a meal at The Lodge at Maddox as they are closing after today. Such good people! They deserve time to themselves after many years of hosting others. Being there brings back memories of growing up in my grandparents restaurant. Love the atmosphere. Love the staff. Love the hot fresh rolls, corn pones, but especially the raspberry butter.

Always good food. Chicken fried steak with strawberry pie! We had a large family gathering and they were able to accommodate us easily with quick service. Much faster than other places I have been to. It's worth the drive!

Maddox is a local powerhouse, but like many long-popular eating locations they've kind of outlived their quality. Generally I think it's overpriced and you'd get equal or better food at a local diner or even a chain. I do have a soft spot for their shrimp steaks, but you can pick those up frozen and take them home if you want.

I grew up in the area and don't have the obsession with Maddox that most do. The food is generally bland and I prefer a great diversity in flavor than what is typically offered. It tends to attract an older clientele and is stepped in tradition.
I've been coming here for years! There are multiple reasons we continue to do so. 1. Rasberry butter and rolls, 2. Turkey steak 3. Cow meat in all of its varieties 4. corn pones. 5. chocolate candy sticks. They never disappoint. We will be back!

Far more open inside the lodge than over at the other building. You have to get the Prime Rib! It was saltire than other prime rib I have had, but it was perfect, oh and their carrots! Oh my gosh those carrots were fantastic. I also got the seafood salad and really enjoyed it (and I am not normally a seafood guy). My son referred to the waiters as "fancy servants", either way they did a fantastic job. I loved every last bite!

Had a great time at the lodge with our company party. The staff was excellent. Our waitress remembered my drink type and was right on top of refills the entire night. I even asked for BBQ sauce and they sent it out to me without delay. Definitely will do this again.
