If you’ve ever wondered what yesterday’s buffet dreams look like after they’ve slept in the fridge overnight, Hong Kong Buffet has you covered. Nearly every dish had that unmistakable “second day energy” — soft where it shouldn’t be, stiff where it didn’t need to be, and warm only in spirit. The kind of meal that makes you nostalgic for food you’ve never even eaten.

Service was a unique experience too: imagine being stranded on a deserted island, but instead of sand and palm trees, you’re surrounded by steam trays and nobody makes eye contact. My table may actually still be waiting for a drink refill.

On the bright side, it was affordable. On the dim side, I now understand why.

Between being overcharged $20 (it was only myself and 3 kids.....not very hard to compute) and the food poisoning, we won't be back.

Giving 5 star because this compared to any Chinese buffet we go to in California. Sushi on point, soups, glcould.of been more fresh as won tin tops were a bit dry from floating (shoot even a 20-30 min walk through staring em would of fixed this complaint) we got 1 refill being there for an hour and it was empty but seemed to be only 2 or 3 people working so idc esp since I was coming off 10 days of camping. All in all I will be back here every year on my way out of camping it hit the spot and the staff were super friendly.

I came hungry and fortunately lost my appetite not long after arrival. While the food looks similar to what you will find in Chinese buffets across the region, do not be decieved, the Hong Kong Buffet in Cedar City added their own twist to classic items. Fried foods tend to be crispy and occasionally a challenge for you children. Not here! Each fried item had been carefully prepared with a soft, saturated breading, allowing for easy consumption by toddlers and denticulation challenged aging adults alike. By contrast the chicken skewers, fries, and non breaded meats are perfect for folks looking to exercise their jaws. Those dishes, when combined with copious water for safety, will challenge your warrior ethos, jaw endurance, and require prolonged mastication. While my unrefined pallet struggled with these advanced culinary takes on buffet classics I did find refuge in the humble ribs, and I am not ashamed to say that I went back and got a second one, finishing both with without an excess of regret. I left $20 lighter, not much heavier, and pondering what gastroenterologist availability was like in the area on a Sunday. I must add that the staff were kind and friendly. I think they know, but are possibly trapped in the building. It seems a shift in the reviews is happening, trending towards a golf scores. I genuinely hope they find their footing again.

Place is not very clean, very bad service even for a buffet, by the time we left all the dishes we used since we arrived were still there

Easily the worst food we have ever eaten. We have been all over the country and we can easily say we have found the lowest of the low. Decore is old and dingy. Food is an exact replica of food poisoning. Then they had the gall to charge my toddler $20 for dinner. Lessons were learned tonight. We will never go back. Go to Mandarin or Panda.

In all honesty, its not too bad. The food was not the best but also we arrived at 8:15 and the place closes at 9, so I understand that it was probably just bc we arrived late. The service was good, I talked to them in Mandarin and the staff was nice. There wasn't many people, there was a couple and a family when we arrived. I personally dont really like crowded/loud places so this was good. Overall 4 stars, food was a little old/cold, service was good, atmosphere was nice.
