The Happy Sumo

We love the sushi restaurant! It's pretty low-key, and the prices are fairly reasonable. The service seems to be pretty slow here, on a fairly regular basis. And I would understand that if it was super busy all the time but it is really never busy. The last two times we went there was only really five or six tables occupied and it was a pretty long wait for our food. It's not so bad that we won't go, obviously. But sometimes it could be annoying

Express not sit down come for Sunday dinner with the family but plenty full servings and very yummy

The spicy salmon roll was 10/10 and all of their desserts are amazing! Kambrielle was very friendly and kind and provided such attentive service and great recommendations

It was very expensive for mediocre sushi. Most of the sushi rolls were not gluten free, I wish they had more gf options.

Really enjoy their sushi but unfortunately they don’t take food allergies seriously. My wife is throwing up right now due to their inability to recognize allergies (despite reassuring us the food was safe by their staff). This has happened to us before at this location and each time we’ve been hopeful but will certainly not be going back at this point and can’t recommend to anyone that values food safety

Currently throwing up due to their cavalier approach to allergies. Have ordered many times, in the store, on the phone and, through DoorDash and have had 3 separate orders include gluten ingredients despite being marked Gluten-Free (Celiac). Each time they’ve offered a refund, which is great, but I noticed after eating it twice even when confirming it’s gluten free on pick up. I tried to see if there was a different process so I could safely eat the food or prevent someone else from getting harmed, but they really weren’t interested in stopping this from happening.

Not worth getting sick from a restaurant that doesn’t practice food safety.

Honestly, I forgot this restaurant existed. So glad I was reminded. I've been back 3 times. I especially like the Dynamite Shrimp appetizer and the Mars roll. The staff is hip, but very accommodating.

When i visit my mom in cottonwood heights we always have a meal here.

I was mostly impressed by the decor, which seems fancy. However, the sushi was okay. I got the spicy pepper chicken, which was alright. I have a feeling that if they used potatoe starch or corn starch, it would stay crispy and less soggy. I would recommend if you're in the area, but I won't be going back.

I had such a lovely time at Happy Sumo. The food was amazing and my server, Savannah, was so sweet and took such good care of us. I would definitely come back again!
