No longer allow cash
I am gluten intolerant. I called ahead to be sure they had GF options, they said yes. When I got there and asked if the yogurt was GF, they didnt know. The young lady had to get someone to look. I appreciated the extra effort, but wish they would have known. When I ordered they uncharged for the GF granola $1.50. I probably wouldn't have minded if, they had been told, and/or had given me more that 2 Tbs of it on my yogurt. My friend frequents this establishment was surprised by the lack of granola and price of the uncharge. Bottom line, they gave a large portion of yogurt but it was lack luster in flavor because the toppings were so skimpy. The yogurt to topping ratio didn't make for a well balance enjoyable bowl.
I have been in this area often but never noticed this place. I stopped by and it was amazing! They leave space at the top of the bowl for mixing which is super convenient. I also love honest eatery but the location of this area is so cute and fun there’s also outdoor seating and such a fun walkable area! They have GF granola as well.
Any place that doesn't accept cash for payment is an auto 1*. They use the excuse of credit card fees to increase their prices and then refuse to accept cash.
Went in and was treated like my money wasn’t good enough for them. Just because of my skin color didn’t get a hello or any form of DECENT human interaction. Congrats on being another racist establishment.
PITAYA MANA bowl is the bomb! Best, fresh, healthy and tasty ingredients I have had! They blend it fresh and it is prepared with love! Thank you Protein Foundry!
I like this place but today the person who was fixing the fruit bowls, he was grabbing everything with his hands and I asked him to wear gloves and he said that he just washed his hands ( I asked him to wear gloves on my fruit bowl and he did) so I don’t know. I just feel that when you are preparing food-you should be really careful and always use new gloves when you’re preparing food so I don’t know if Im going to come back to this place.! 😞
Systems were down and they don’t take cash. It’s not the staffs fault they are great. This isn’t the first time the systems went down while I’m there. It would be nice if they took cash as backup. The smoothies are good and the aci bowls are excellent.
Where do I begin… as a high level athlete, I make sure everything I put inside my body is the cleanest of the clean. Not only was server Claire excellent, she was fun, charismatic, and brightened my day. She served me possibly the best smoothie I have ever consumed, and now I come in every Sunday. It is the best part of my day.

The first açaí bowl I had here was so good but the last 2/3 times I’ve come, the bowl has been runnier than a smoothie and all I can taste is banana and almond milk. The bowl I got tonight also didn’t have all of the toppings it should and had so much PB that it was hard to get down. I’ll probably just start making these at home because it sucks to spend $13 and not be sure if you’ll like what you’re getting.
I went the Cottonwood Heights location on 10/27/24 around 1:45 pm for an açaí bowl. The staff were extremely unprofessional and appeared more concerned with socializing than helping customers and fulfilling orders. Staff at this location have no oversight or accountability, one staff was actively watching TikTok on their phone with headphones in while ‘working’.
Two staff were adding toppings to açaí bowls ordered and took an unprecedented amount of time due to their socializing. The staff took so long adding toppings and holding the açaí bowls in their hands that when received, the bowls were watery and unappetizing.
Additionally, staff were beginning the process of cleaning well before closing time, bringing in tables/chairs from outside, sweeping, and mopping as customers were still ordering bowls and sitting down to eat them. All staff working were visibly annoyed and disgruntled to see customers coming in around 2 pm. This Protein Foundry is open until 3 pm. I also witnessed the staff who had been bringing in the outside tables and cleaning and taking out garbage come back in and reach into the toppings bin without gloves or potentially even washing their hands. Even following basic health standards are too difficult for staff.
It’s a disappointment to see how poorly this restaurant is being managed at every level. Clearly quality products and customer service are not important to Protein Foundry at any level of management and this is highly visible in their staff and how they fulfill orders and interact with the customer base. I was hopeful management had taken into consideration all the previous reviews regarding both poor product quality and the apathy, obliviousness, and unprofessional nature of staff, but unfortunately that is not the case. This location was once of my favorite places for quality açaí bowls with good customer service, now I can no longer support or recommend Protein Foundry at Cottonwood Heights.

Always delicious and the service is top notch. The manager is really friendly. One of our favorite spots.
Normally I really enjoy this place however this visit I ordered a shake. I was waiting and I watched the guy working the register half way fill up his own cup with my shake and then proceeded to give me my shake not filled up and I just feel if I’m paying $10 plus a $4 tip my drink should be filled up not given away. They also got rid of their bigger sized cups and raised their prices. At this point just buy the protein at Costco and make your shakes at home for way cheaper and quicker.
Love the chocovado Bowl. This is the only place I will go for smoothies
