I absolutely love this place. Good prices for good food! The staff is always very friendly and quick to help you and prepare delicious food for you at the time you order. I wish I had discovered this place sooner than last year. I honestly value this place as a hidden gem in the food industry for burgers, fries, onion rings, and shakes. They also have a breakfast menu as well.

Burger was inedible. Drenched in "Burger sauce" and had an overcooked texture. The onion rings were also soggy with grease. The shake was ok, but at those prices I'd rather go to Freddy's or

Food here is fine. Old school drive in feel. Service however, less than 1 star. Apparently, ordering a plain burger with only the burger, bacon, & mustard is difficult to execute. After 3 tries, they still didn't get it correct.

Went into the Ballard’s Iceberg today, excited about having a shake. Boy, was I disappointed. My husband and I went in for lunch, ordered a 1/4 lb pastrami burger, a plain hamburger, lg fries and 2 shakes. One strawberry banana and a rocky road. Needless to say, what we received was overcooked, over salted hamburgers. The greasy fries were so salty we couldn’t eat them and don’t forget the two soupy shakes. We ate 1/2 of the burgers, and threw away the fries. When I went back in to ask about the shakes, I was told that the flavoring liquid they put in them causes them to melt. I’m like what??? I asked her about the Rocky Road shake which consists of almonds, mini marshmallows and chocolate ice cream. Not this one, it had chopped almonds galore, liquid marshmallow cream and chocolate syrup which equals = Creamed Chocolate Almond Ice Cream Soup. Yuck! ? I said the Iceberg on 9th and 3900 S doesn’t make theirs that way, and I was told they were not affiliated with that store. Well, the joke was me, because let me tell you Ballard’s, you guys need to do some heavy market research. Because the quality of goods you’re selling isn’t even in the same league with The Iceberg Drive-In on 3900 S and 900 East. My wallet is $40 lighter, a lesson learned, and we won’t be back.

Ballard's Iceberg is one of the great remaining Draper heritage sites. Not to be confused with the franchised Icebergs, this location is independently owned and operated, and has a cool founding story as to why.

During my visit, I enjoyed the Big burger. It's a standard hamburger, but doesn't have the grease and regret of fast food burgers. The fries are good and perfectly salted, although mine could've used a little more time in the fryer. I also ordered a Reese's shake and it's solid. On my next visit, I'd like to try the spicy chicken sandwich, onion rings, and a different shake flavor (maybe the brownie).

There's parking on both sides of the building. The teens who took my order were friendly and helpful. The dining hall is compact, but that adds to the experience overall. If there's no open tables inside, they have some outside tables on the west side. I love that this place holds history since 1960, and hope it stays around through the next century.
