They have a wide variety of excellent donuts to choose from. Delicious!

The store was clean and service was quick.

Two pieces of feedback before I explain the 5 star review:
First, I ordered a dozen donuts and a breakfast sandwich. After I ordered, I began waiting for my breakfast sandwich. A few minutes later, a man walked in and ordered a breakfast sandwich (the store was not busy). A few minutes later, he got his breakfast sandwich. I walked up to the counter and asked if mine was close. They didn't admit it, but they clearly forgot to make it. 10 minutes later, after about 15 minutes total, I got my breakfast sandwich. That's okay, mistakes happen. I do feel that in general managers need to be more willing to give employees the freedom to do more for customers when egregious mistakes are made (like completely just not making something a person ordered, making them wait 3 times longer than they should have), such as giving them a discount, giving money back, maybe a gift card, etc. The employees were great, apologetic, etc - I have no problem with them. But that didn't change the fact I was late to where I needed to be because they simply didn't make what I ordered until I reminded them.

Second, you guys really need to have the glazed raspberry filled donuts - they have the powdered raspberry filled, but if you're a donut shop, you HAVE to have the glazed kind. Every donut place, even grocery store donut areas have the glazed raspberry filled - yours would be amazing!

I gave five stars because the employees were great, very kind (my issue is more with management, tbh), etc. The breakfast sandwich - once I finally got it - was great. One of, if not the best breakfast sandwich, I've ever had. It was huge, made fresh (obviously, haha), and just really good.

The donuts are huge and the taste great.

Having to wait so long for my order, however, and not getting anything beyond an apology does make me wonder if I will be back as great as everything else was. Be better, managers - speaking generally, not just to Donut Star.

A Nut-Free Dream Come True!
Donut Star Cafe has quickly become a favorite for our family — and for good reason! As a parent of a child with severe peanut and tree nut allergies, finding safe dessert options is nearly impossible. Donut Star is the first and only nut-free donut and dessert shop we've found in the Salt Lake area, and we are so grateful!

Not only is everything completely nut-free, but the donuts are also incredible. You’d never guess they were made without nuts — the quality, flavor, and freshness are top-notch. Our family favorites are the Cornuts, fritters, blueberry filled, and maple — but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

The staff is always welcoming and kind, and the service is consistently excellent. It’s such a relief to enjoy treats together as a family without the stress or worry. Thank you, Donut Star, for creating a safe (and delicious!) space for allergy families. We love you!

Been coming here for a few years. They always have the best breakfast sandwiches and donuts and serve them with the friendliest smiles. Truly the best donuts in the area.

EDIT: the owner reached out and replaced the sandwiches for free. They were delicious!
I placed an order online and showed up at the scheduled time, only to find it hadn’t even been started. The staff—clearly not busy—asked me what I ordered instead of checking the system, then argued in front of me about who should make the sandwich. When we got home and checked the bag, the order was completely wrong: we paid for two “Tanks” on bagels but got croissant sandwiches with no hashbrowns. The bacon was undercooked, and the eggs were an unappetizing color This used to be my favorite breakfast sandwich, and it’s shocking how far the quality and service have fallen. On a positive note, their baked good were amazing as usual. I called to complain about receiving the wrong sandwiches and the employee seemed unprepared to handle this feedback. I wanted to support a local, small business but it wasn’t worth paying $16 for the wrong order. We ended up getting breakfast sandwiches from Einstein’s instead.

I have never been treated so poorly as I was today by donut star. It is Father’s Day so understandably they may encounter issues but the staff was so rude I feel inclined to make sure the owners know how unacceptable it is. First I drove to the Draper location because online it said it was open, only to find a sign on the door saying it was closed and that we needed to go to the south Jordan location because it is open. My online order was then cancelled as I drove to the south Jordan location. When we arrived at SoJo a girl said “we are closed” even though the doors were open and there were donuts in the cases. I explained what happened and she was unsympathetic and said something like “we only have sprinkle donuts anyway.” Meanwhile I had to call out why I couldn’t buy the other donuts in the cases. Turns out I actually could buy them but she was too busy trying to shut the store and clean that she wouldn’t get them for me and made someone from the back come and get them. When I asked for two of the specialty cronuts she said “well those are $6 each” as if it would mean I wouldn’t want them. It felt like she was discouraging me so they wouldn’t have to serve me. They never apologized for any inconveniences or said thanks or have a good day after we finally did purchase. They weren’t kind in any way… and as we left my 11 year daughter said “mom why were they so rude to us.” All I can think is that there were complications in a busy day and the gal in charge was just so anxious to be done that she couldn’t see past getting things shut down enough to actually take care of longtime customers already in her store. It was shocking how rude we were treated when we had gone to great lengths just to get my husband his favorite treat for Father’s Day. And why wouldn’t they want to sell us the donuts in the cases? Yes it was limited what they had left, but they would just go to waste otherwise so why be so rude to people wanting to buy them!

I recently visited Donut Star in Draper, and while the location was nice and the donuts were good, they weren’t anything extraordinary. The biggest downside for me was the pricing—it felt way too high for what you’re getting. Unfortunately, I was also overcharged but couldn’t find my receipt, so I let it go. While the experience wasn’t terrible, the cost just doesn’t make it worth a return visit for me. If you’re okay with paying a premium for decent donuts, it might be worth a try, but personally, I’ll be looking elsewhere. ⭐⭐⭐/5

So yummy! The chocolate topped, glazed donut with M&Ms was one of the best donuts I have ever had. 🎶 😋 🎉

Before they got bought out their donuts were always so soft and fluffy! I went bright and early and got a crunchy/dry donut that tasted old. Super disappointing because they used to be a good!!

We recently discovered this bakery after googling nut free options near us. Our son has a severe nut allergy and has never had a bakery donut because they always have nuts in the kitchen and his allergy is too severe to consume anything made near nuts. Sometimes when we find nut free options for him, whether store bought or fresh made, the quality is not the same but this was not the case with Donut Star. Our whole family enjoyed the donuts from here and they were fresh and tasted amazing. When I mentioned to my son on a Friday night that we would go get him some donuts the next morning, he was awake and dressed ready to go at 8:00 am because he was so excited that he could get any donut in there and not have to worry. He often has to sit and watch his brother get treats from places or eat things that he can’t and this is so hard for him. Donut Star makes it possible for him to feel like every other kid that can walk in a bakery and order what he wants. The owner was great and was so nice to us while ordering. Much better than larger chain style donut shops I have been to. Thank you for having a nut free bakery where people with nut allergies can enjoy amazing treats!! You have new customers for life!

Way over priced and not very good. Very small selection. I bought a dozen of mixed, just didn't taste fresh.
