The food did not disappoint..we loved all of it.

As a girl born and raised in North Carolina, I know good Southern food — and let me tell you, this place NAILED it. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was back home. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the collard greens had just the right kick, and don’t even get me started on the mac and cheese... creamy, cheesy, and made just right. But what really made the experience special was the owner. He came around to check on every single table. You can tell he puts his heart into everything — the food, the atmosphere, the whole place. It felt less like eating out and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. If you’re craving true Southern comfort food made with love, this is where you need to be. I’ll definitely be back! Maybe there will be corn puddin to try next time too. 🤭

The server was wonderful, kind, and prompt. Being courteous even when being overwhelmed by the packed house.
The food is delicious, the hibiscus red drink was wonderful and well worth the extra cost.
The lemon bars were a perfect note to end the meal on.

The entrees were the stars of the show, the owner knows exactly what he wants each dish to be and does it very well. They are marinaded, seasoned, and cooked perfectly. What food did come with a sauce came with the perfect amount to let the tender cuts of meat speak for themselves, not too sweet or overpowering, enhancing the flavor and adding variety to the dish. The portions are very generous, and each meal could easily feed two.

The sides were also delicious, especially the golden shells, which had a perfect velvety texture and great rich flavor. Doing so without the gummy texture and odd flavor that comes with ultra processed cheese that other restaurants will resort to. The corn bread was tasty and had a great texture, balancing the food. If you like black eyed peas you will love the savory and rich rendition served here.

The desert of lemon bars were wonderful and a great end to the meal. Just like the previous dishes they were balanced. Not too sour, not to sweet, not too creamy on top, and not too crunchy on the bottom. The lemon being balanced by what I think was blackberry.

All in all a great experience, the food puns on the walls were very amusing.

One of the best restaurants in Utah, hands-down. I’ve had nearly everything on the menu at this point and I love ALL of it. I recommend literally everything. I couldn’t even pick favorites if I tried. It’s all my favorite.
The staff are so warm and kind as well. Everything about this place is exquisite.

I can't speak highly enough of this restaurant. There aren't very many (any?) southern comfort food restaurants around, and this one does it so perfectly. Zero flaws. Perfection

Food was great! We got the fried chicken.
The flavors and maple sauce were amazing. My wife and I got Mac and Cheese so our daughter could have it but we ended up liking it so much we had to order our own as well. After meeting the owner it wasn’t a surprise that the food was good. I could tell he genuinely cares about making good food!
