Royal On Ridge, (formerly Ridge Cafe)

I was a little nervous to try this out with all the negative Google reviews. We showed up on Friday the 10th at 1 PM. The place was completely closed even though all signage on the door said they should be open.

I understand things happen but a thoughtful business owner would update their Google business days and hours so people don’t drive 40 minutes to the restaurant to find out they’re not open. That’s a situation that could’ve been easily prevented.

There is a big sign out front saying the building, land and restaurant is for sale so who knows what’s going on here.

It’s Friday Jan 10, 2025. Decided to ignore the negative service and food reviews and try it for my birthday lunch. Hours say open. Website say open. It’s noon and they are closed. Whomever owns this place needs to sell ot to someone that actually wants to own a restaurant and can hire quality servers. This is one of numerous times that you try to come by and eat and they are closed, even though they say they are open. Never again. Stay away! This place needs to be owned by someone else. It’s too great of a location to be having service issues and to just have owners that open whenever they feel like it.

Ordered a $50 New York steak, wedge and Pizza. The server didn’t walk by for 15 minutes after being seated. The steak was ordered medium and it came out flat like a flank steak and was almost well done. Pizza undercooked and doughy. Wedge blah. Total disaster watching the employees hanging out, eating, on their phones. Beautiful ambiance, gorgeous pizza oven.

We love having a cozy spot right next to home. Brunch is our favorite.

Sadly, I can’t give any stars about the food because I wouldn’t know how the food taste because we sat down and then got kicked out 20 minutes later because they said the kitchen was closed after we had ordered lol. Terrible service actually shocked. Worst restaurant experience ever

Super friendly and attentive wait staff. Arc Bruschetta appetizer was unlike any other I’ve had previously and delicious! Unfortunately, my Maui fish tacos came out smelling really “fishy” and tons of batter (more than fish). Taco slaw was quite good and the other half of my party enjoyed the club sandwich. Price seemed reasonable for the quality of dish (except the fish tacos). Enjoyed a hot coffee and Bailey’s on a cold winter day - which helped with the somewhat cold draft (an entire wall of garage door/windows) that I’m sure is hard to regulate in the winter months. Don’t sit by that wall if you get cold at all. Will probably go back and try dinner.

Ordered the ribeye and I don't know what cut of meat that was but... eww.

Drinks were watered down.
Waitress didn't know what any of the items on the menu were.

Ravioli was great.
Mashed potatoes were good.

Disappointing overall.
Especially having paid $250 for the night for 2 people.

Not impressed. The food was not that great for the price. They advertised these views from the restaurant but once you’re there there’s no such views unless you drive away few blocks down.

Journi did a great job making me feel welcome for my first time here. Service was prompt and accurate.

The food was good, but the portions are pretty huge (not something I normally say). I think the wedge salad comes as the whole head of lettuce, not just a “wedge,” so prepare yourself for that. Also, if you order extra dressing, be ready to mop it up, they go heavy on the dressing already.

The burger was tasty, but again, too big/tall to practically eat. I had to take off half the toppings to fit it in my fat mouth. I ordered mine medium rare, but it arrived well-done (but juicy, not dry). I’d probably try something else on the menu.

The Royal Ridge Fries were good, but the taste of raw garlic was a little tough to get around. Regular fries for me next time.

I’ll be back, but will likely try all new items from the menu.

I called to get me and my friends a table ahead of time. The lady that answered the phone was helpful and friendly sounding. So, I had high hopes. Quickly disappointed.
Our server from the get go seemed liked she would rather be anywhere else but there. We asked her a question that every server should be ready and happy to answer…. What’s everyone’s favorite thing to order….. she glumly answered (after rolling her eyes) a few items which she made sound subpar….i think she could tell we were surprised so then she basically just started reading the menu to us. strange. Even if she hates the food she could just make something up.
We ordered our food and within a minute waved her over to order an appetizer. We asked her if she could put a pause on our entrees so we could enjoy our appetizer. She said no. It didn’t really matter. Everything was cold when it was brought out.it was just an odd experience.
When we left the front staff thanked us and wished us a good evening which was great.
Food was cold. But, had a good flavor. Drinks were good too the restaurant was clean and well decorated..

Had a table of 8, added 20% tip on without telling anyone for a large party of people and then requested another tip. Just distasteful in not disclosing information ahead of time.

Food would of been better if it wasn't cold, servers had no knowledge of menu , the esthetics were fun, the view was on the way up, not from the restaurant, kitchen was gorgeous
