We order several times a month from this location, always fast and ready to pick up, but most times with issues, I never complain when it’s wrong. I get being over the phone may be confusing, I ordered a vegetable burrito, they added pork. So I couldn’t eat my burrito, we spent over $60 and most of the order was wrong. I think the order taker was confused. Any ways couldn’t hold my disappointment in any longer .

Extremely disappointed in Cafe Rio. The portion size of the meat was so unbelievably small. I wish I had recorded the interaction with the gal serving me today. She was disrespectful when I asked about the portion size and pointed to one of those dressing containers saying that the amount of meat is equal to what would fit in the container. Let me assure you, it was less than that. I deliberately watched as she served a lady behind me. And she did not conform to that same standard - it was literally double the amount I was served and the lady did not ask for double meat. I should have walked out and gone to Costa Vida. I will not go back to this Cafe Rio and neither should you

I love the food but unfortunately this location is poorly run. I called corporate and gave them my feedback about two months ago. Just went again and it was worse than ever. Disgruntled employees, dirty bathrooms, and burnt out lighting really kills the mood. I hate leaving bad reviews. I just hope it is heard and changes are made, for their sake and the customers.

Update January 2025: My previous review 7 years ago is a little outdated. I think service and overall experience are dramatically better than what it was 7 years ago.

We ordered takeout yesterday and our salads had barely any filling. It was ridiculous. My mother, who has CANCER and barely any appetite, was starving after she finished her salad. Do better.

I just have to share my own personal experience from the past two to three years. Whenever the manager, Leslie, is working, she treats me like I'm some psychopath criminal. I always get and pay for a kid soda, which is in the same cup as a water cup. There were a few times where one of her fellow employees watched me from two feet away from where i was filling up my drink. (Hello! Personal space!) She saw I was filling a water cup with soda so she went to Leslie to make sure I paid for it, which I did. This happened on multiple occasions. Then there is another time when I was getting utensils and she had another employee check to make sure I took one utensil each. I wasn't allowed to take more than that. I have kids so I usually take a few extra in case it breaks. Leslie even pulled me aside one day and said I am only allowed one utensil. How ridiculous is that?! I went there yesterday, I order a veggie tostada like I always do. The Mexican lady that usually fills my salad, always skimps on the salad so I usually ask if I can have a little more. I don't get guacamole and that salsa that usually comes with it. Well yesterday, when it was times to fill my salad, she had Leslie do it instead of her. She even skimped on the lettuce so I asked for a little more and she only added three or four pieces of lettuce. It was very little. If I'm going to pay $10 for my tostada, I want to get my money's worth. Also, when it was time to pay, Leslie stepped in to take my money and when she was done with my order, she walked away. Since I go there every week, I should be treated with kindness and respect. I feel like a criminal everytime Leslie is there.
I've been a regular at cafe rio for years. If there was another location in heber, I'd go to that one so I don't have to deal with Leslie.

Several visits in the past 6-8 months and they’ve all been terrible. Poor service, poor quality of ingredients, missing items. It’s unfortunate how often this has been occurring. We will be going to costa vida for now on, this experience has been happening too frequently.

Ordered takeout online for 6:00 pm.
When I arrived to pick up the order they refused to fill it and said they were having a private party.

They always always run out of product even hours before they close. We have walked out multiple times due to not having steak and their unwillingness to make more 2 hours before closing. Their attitudes seem like they didn't want your business either way.

Honestly one of my top 3 restaurants. At this point it is a staple in my childhood. The horchata is delicious, and the enchilada style burrito with sweet pork is legendary. For kids you can get the cheese quesadilla and that is pretty awesome too.

Kid-friendliness: Cheese quesadilla is extra good.

I prefer Cafe Rio to most other burrito joints, But this one was a little disappointing. Don’t go in after the rush because they stopped cooking. They didn’t have steak, mild sauce, salsa, Fresca, they had no rice. Very little beans and very little queso, they were mushy and dry respectively. The restaurant was clean, that’s why I’m giving them two stars.
