They won't ever be getting a red cent from me! The bathrooms were broken at the theater next door, so some patrons went to use the pub's bathroom despite temporary accommodations at the theater. I was at the theater buying popcorn and opened the door for pub owner. He then jumped in front of me and demanded the young girl at the counter go find the owner for him so he could complain about the bathroom situation. The theater owner sends a lot of business over to Melvin's, and had previously tried contacting someone at Melvin's to work it out, but it hadn't gotten to the pub owner. I left while they were still talking, but the dude was just rude the whole time, and the theater owner was calm and respectful. Some people come use your bathroom, so you go and disrespect another business's customers and a little girl? What a jerk!

Great wings, and a good variety of drinks. Very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, even for families.

This place was very busy when we arrived but we were able to find a table. It seems very popular with tourists and locals.
Our server was very friendly and attentive.
The food was delicious and plentiful. We had the chicken burger and the club sandwich, both were great. The onion rings are delicious and enormous.
If you are visiting Heber City, I would recommend visiting Melvin's Public House.

The Bacon Cheeseburger was SOOO good!!! The reason why I gave it 3 stars on atmosphere is because it is a bar, and I don't drink. Really good food there, though!
Kid-friendliness: Not really, alcohol smeel is everywhere.

Not a bar
Stopped into Melvinās to watch OT of the college football playoffs and ended up staying for the great atmosphere and welcoming feel. Cheap beers, friendly staff and the cleanest restroom Iāve ever seen at a bar. All round, one of the best bars iāve been to. There was also a good selection of food and drinks on offer. Shoutout to Ben, our server, who was friendly and attentive throughout the entire duration of our visit despite being the only server on duty in a packed bar. If I am ever back in the area, Iāll be back. Cheers!
Kid-friendliness: Family friendly. At least during the day there were multiple other families dining in.

Pay attention to your tab. I've had friends tell me they've been charged way to mim usually harsh on my ratings, and this is what I'm posting.

I typically enjoy trying new dive bars, but unfortunately, this place didn't leave a great impression. Upon arriving, we werenāt greeted with any warmthājust a quick, āIDās? Iāll be right with you.ā No welcome, no pleasantries. I get itās a bar in Utah, but thatās not how you should welcome guests spending money at your establishment. My friend ordered a beer they didnāt carry (a Miller Lite). While being handed the menu, the bartender (Stevie J) immediately shot her down rudely, telling her they didnāt have it instead of offering an equivalent they did carry. When she jokingly said, āYou donāt have that beer? Iām leaving,ā Stevie J, the bartender, didnāt take it well, completely missing the humor. Instead, he made a dismissive comment about all light beers tasting the same. When she finally settled on a different beer, a Stella, he remarked, āOh, from light to skunk?ā
Stevie J seemed more interested in chatting with the waitress and the locals at the service end of the bar than interacting with us or the other customers around us, barely checking in. We were never his priority and were never even offered water. It all just felt like a strange experience. Iāve never been to a bar where the bartender didnāt want customers, but apparently, there is a first time for everything.
The vibe was just off from the very beginning. Stevie J seemed almost annoyed that newcomers were in on a football Sunday night. He gave off some very unwelcoming energy. On the plus side, he said heās been there for 6 1/2 years, so perhaps we caught him on an off night? It felt like he was just there for his regulars, which is unfortunate for anyone who showed up that night, like us.
If youāre not one of them locals, donāt expect excellent service.
I wouldnāt recommend sitting at the bar unless youāre a local or prepared for a pretty cold experience.
