Wasn’t what I was hoping for. It wasn’t terrible, but it just didn’t satisfy. Too much refried beans. Meat tasted off. I also would rather have my own cup and machine available for refills. Don’t like going to the counter and asking. This is semi fast food semi dine in. Looks like they order out for the desserts. Doubtful I’ll come back. After checking some of the restaurants replies to legitimate criticism I’m changing from 3 stars to 1. A little humility and professionalism goes a long way. If you’re too thin skinned to learn that some people don’t enjoy your product then do something else. Berating honest customers will not improve your results.

This place has great food! Don't expect your traditional Tex-mex, but this food is traditional Mexican of Mexico City. The whole family loved the food, and we will be back very soon to try more of their offerings. We tried both their sope and their pombazo. Both were great. And they have so many meat options.

Don't expect typical Mexican food, like burritos and enchiladas, but that's not a bad thing. They'll have other menu items to love! It's a Mexico City kind of vibe. You'll love the atmosphere. Owners/staff are super nice. They'll give you good recommendations. I liked the flat bread with beans in the dough, steak pieces on top.

As someone with a love for Mexico City (went twice last year), this place makes me really happy. Went with family for my husbands birthday dinner and the first thing I noticed was the CDMX ambience. They had a CDMX sign out front, a tank with two Axolotl, and a movie playing that shows what it looks like to walk through the main plaza in Mexico City. It is not Tex Mex. Which I also love. But you just have to know that and come in with an open mind and/or a pre-existing knowledge of Mexico City. Just like we have different foods and cultures in various parts of the US, Mexico is a beautiful large and diverse country. About the food: not as spicy as many Tex Mex or local Mexican cuisines. That can be a positive or negative, depending on how you like to eat. That being said, had a really great flavor. I had the chicken mole, which is chicken cooked in a very complex chocolate sauce. Sounds weird if you haven't tried it but it is rich and delicious. I think their tortillas are handmade. They were so good. Next time I think I may tripe the Sope. Someone at my table got it and it looked great. The green sauce on the Chilaquiles was amazing. I had a little leftover mole and I am highly excited to enjoy it again today.

Walked in and nobody was at the counter. Heard some commotion upstairs, I think the owners must live above. The food is just ok- it's expensive! Also pastry case is sad, like three things in this giant pastry case. The dining room is about as boring as you can get. No music, no pictures or art on the wall. It just has a horrible ambience. It's a shame because the building has alot of potential but I don't think the current ownership is the right people to make that happen. Review update: owner just responded to me and was a real smart a*** I'm really disappointed that someone In the F&B industry would be so defensive against criticism instead of trying to improve. Obviously they don't care about their customers which is a shame because they won't have any business without them. And to the owner If you are reading this, I actually DO have extensive experience in restaurant management and interior design! I have managed multiple five star restaurants across the west coast for major corporations...so ya... I think I know a thing or two.

This place is awesome and the customer service is even better! So friendly and the food is always so good! I'm so glad we found this spot.

It was good. I loved trying the pambazo - but the bread was a burned in places. I won't go out of my way to eat here again, but if my friend/family decided to meet up here I would be happy about it!

I loved this place. The staff was helpful, explained the menu well, and I let them choose for me what to order. They didn't disappoint! I will be back real soon. Food was flavourful, filling and authentic. Home run!

I have tried this place 2 separate times now, had a dish each time I went. I had the street tacos once, they were so bland and over 3 bucks a piece. The second dish I had was actually pretty good, the huarache sencillo. This one was good but also pretty expensive for what I feel like you get. I don't understand the high ratings on this in the slightest though, you would have a better meal at any of the local 24 hour mexican food joints, and would also spend about half the money.

Good food with interesting options. Loved all of the protein but wished things were spicier! Will have to try more options next time. We ordered takeout this time and it was ready on a timely manner!

**EDIT** Well the owner of this establishment isn't doing himself any favors. I see that he has responded to other Yelpers with hostility if they have anything negative to say about his restaurant. He seemed to take particular offense to me calling Herriman the armpit of the valley. What I mean by that is that geographically Herriman is a bit of a dead end. You're never really passing through Herriman to get somewhere else. So that's what I meant by armpit. My review was not overly negative and I had them at three stars, which I consider a good rating. They are at two stars now because I see that when they claim authenticity it is from a place of hostility towards all the other wonderful Mexican restaurants in the valley who have clearly sold out because they serve chips and salsa (salsa is absolutely part of Mexico's culinary tradition going back to the Aztecs and Mayans). Oh and give their Health Score a look. Right now they are at 11 out of 100... Yikes! **END EDIT** So this is an order at the counter, go sit down and come back up to pick up your food when your number is called type of place. When we walked up to the counter we were asked if this was our first time there. We said yes and then got a stern lecture about how they aren't making food based on what we like, they are making food that they like and that is traditional to the Mexico City area. I got a kick out of that. After that my wife and I received a lesson in what their menu items are even though we didn't really ask and were already familiar with those dishes. My wife ordered the Pozole and it was a large bowl with a reasonable amount of pork and about 55oz of hominy. The broth, when you could push enough hominy out of the way to get some, was flavorful and the pork was tender and tasty but that was enough hominy for 4 people easy. I got the Chilapitzalli and it was fine. Sauce had decent flavor and the meat was okay. So I see in many other reviews that this place is "REAL MEXICAN FOOD" and you can't find this stuff anywhere else in the valley. Uhh, there isn't a single thing on this menu that I haven't had at other places in the valley. This place is fine and if you live in Harriman than I'm happy this option is available to you. If it was the closest Mexican place to me I'd go back, but since I had to drive to the armpit of the valley to get there I'd probably opt for many of the other authentic Mexican places in West Jordan, West Valley, South Salt Lake, Salt Lake, Midvale.

Great service!! They only had two employees working and they did a great job.. I had the chicken tacos, they were delicious! My significant other had pambazo especial, he said it was ok, but hard to cut.. My 1 year old had a cheese quesadilla and he was almost done with it; he was full so I was going to take a bite and try it, but when I pulled a piece off I found a piece of a rubber glove inside the breading part.. I am so glad and lucky my son didn't end up eating that part. When I told the two employees what happened they were apologetic and offered to make another one, but after that I couldn't do it and they did offer me a drink too..

We've been to numerous restaurants that claimed to have authentic Mexican food, but this is the real deal. No chips and salsa here! The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. They also have a tank with axolotl in the lobby! We ate the food before we thought to photograph it, so enjoy the axolotl picture!

Absolutely delicious authentic Mexican food. We ordered it to go. I got a Huarache especial with chicharron. It was amazing. The flan for dessert was great too! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.

I went to this restaurant, the place is nice, the service is great, the food it’s ok, if you have been in Mexico City you’ll know the sign of the subway (metro) and the decorations are really nice. When we went there was a Friday night, we were expecting a long line but just a few tables were occupied. After ordering or food it looked really nice, for my taste it’s too grease. We couldn’t use a table inside the restaurant as the ones available were with dishes, looks like they didn’t clean often.
