Fun spot! Bob was great

The best restaurant so far during my Utah trip. Staff was very friendly, the chef choices were best and they were very welcoming.
Me and my family are vegetarian, their choices were so perfect esp the vegetarian burger and the pasta. My kids loved the pasta too. 5 stars for all the hospitality and for the taste.

Bob was such a friendly and welcoming character. We enjoyed our time and the buffalo burger was top notch!! Such a great family run business with some of the best food and dessert you will find. I am so glad we stopped in to try this great place during our travels.

Stopped by Buffalo Trail Trading Post for supper. Wow! The food was one of the best meals we’ve had on vacation. The street tacos and the chipotle chicken were amazing. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly. The chef had a story for every situation!! Definitely recommend!!

One of the worst places I have ever ate! Dog food probably tastes better. Waitress was loud and rude. Won’t be trading with place again.

We love Bob and his burgers! We are from Florida and have come back three times to Zion, every time we won’t miss a stop at Bob’s. He is so down to earth, and it’s like having a meal at his dining table at home. He makes the best bison burger we’ve ever had. This time we tried the desserts and I wish we tried them the first two times, they were the best peanut butter pie and best apple pie I’ve ever had in my life. Bob and the other staff are so friendly and it really is one of our favorite places we’ve ever found while traveling, you’ll feel right at home!

Fun, off-beat spot with great food and super friendly staff. The owner and waiter even put on a little dessert-themed comedy act that keeps things light. As a local, this is going to be a regular hangout for us. Bonus: the owner is full of tips for visitors who want to escape the Zion crowds—this place isn’t just a restaurant and trinket shop, it’s basically an unofficial adventure center. Definitely worth stopping in to eat and get the inside scoop on the area.

Buffalo Trails Trading Company was a great find. It is a small family run spot, about as mom and pop as it gets. From the outside, it looks like a trading post, but it is actually a restaurant with an old store attached to it.

We ordered both the Wagyu and the buffalo burgers, and they were delicious. I personally preferred the Wagyu, but both were worth trying.

I saw some negative reviews about the service and prices, but our experience did not match those complaints. The service did not take any longer than other places we have eaten in the area, and the food was better than most places around Zion.

As for the prices, sure they are more than what you would pay in your small hometown, but this is not your local burger joint. You are near a national park in a remote area. If you are expecting ten dollar meals, maybe do not leave your precious hometown. This place offers great food and a genuine local experience. We left full and happy.

Definitely worth a visit

Ahh. Okay. I was naive initially when looking at places to eat in the Zion area. I had seen two different businesses under the same name of Buffalo Trails Trading company, and additionally a company by the name of The Cactus Room, that all looked like the same place online and had the same menus displayed on the reviews. I gave it a shot regardless, but upon entering, my friends and I immediately realized how unsanitary this place was, from the plywood ceilings to the dust covered jewelry cases, my stomach immediately started churning. Ignoring my intuition, we ventured to peek at the whiteboard menu with the marked up the prices for food and saw how odd a “Hawaiian pasta salad with garlic bread” and a “rosemary/raspberry chipotle chicken breast with spaghetti western potatoes” were to have on the menu.

When we recognized this, we quickly told the owner we were in there for “pie to-go” just to be nice, given his enthusiasm. We had asked him what kind of pies he had on the menu since they weren’t listed on the whiteboard, and he gave a speech to the ENTIRE restaurant about the pies he had, so he didn’t have to repeat this announcement to every guest who was curious about dessert options. After this 3 minute long announcement, we should have taken that as a cue to leave, but instead, ordered the pies, and waited a whole 20 minutes for something that we had figured was pre-prepared. While waiting, we recognized the owner was a one-man show, basically acting as a waiter, checking people out, and cooking the food. We waited patiently and thankfully, took the pies and ate dinner elsewhere. After dinner, we ended up eating the pies we purchased, considering each slice was $10 each. We thought these were going to be at least worth the $10 each ($30 for 3 slices of pie), but instead, we got what amounted to be 3 slices of stomach-cramping, like Reddi Wip mixed with canned puree on a Pillsbury pie crust. Needless to say, after a few bites, the remains were discarded. I’ve had better pies in the frozen section of a grocery store. I write this as a warning to anyone who is looking for a proper pie, or even a sanitary burger after a long day of hiking.

Great food, nice staff. The chef sometimes comes out of the kitchen and looks at who he is cooking for. Very personable.

The people who work here make this place off the hook. Bob is wonderful, but also the food is so great too. The buffalo or wagyu burger, fresh made French fries, and anything else is fabulous. Maybe don’t come here if you want some elegant night out. This is an eclectic artsy place where if you enjoy that kind of thing, you’ll love love love it!!

The beer is great, let Bob choose for you - it’s all wonderful. I highly recommend!

I got the bison burger. Best burger I’ve ever had! Loved the banana cream pie. And service was SO good.

Love to see all of the Native American / Indigenous art too.

I want to start by acknowledging that the staff here was very kind and helpful, which we appreciated. However, our experience was far from satisfactory. After waiting 1.5 hours for our food, I was shocked to find a rubber band in my dish. This is completely unacceptable. On top of that, the food itself was inconsistent—some dishes were overly salty, while others were bland. Despite the great service, this incident seriously affected our experience, and unfortunately, we won’t be returning. Thank you for your understanding.

Ok, so the one star reviews must be from totally spoiled people. This place is not one of your chain restaurants with no soul. Bob the owner is truly one of a kind and the other staff was very friendly too. The buffalo Burger was very good. As it gets busy sometimes and there are not many employees the wait can be a bit longer, but it was worth it and Bob provided the entertainment. Will visit again!
