River Rock Roasting Drive Thru

I had a deeply upsetting experience at River Rock Café that I feel compelled to share. When I asked the barista, Derek, for help, he responded in a confrontational and aggressive manner. Instead of offering assistance, he escalated the situation by making what felt like a provocation—asking me if I wanted to “do something,” as if challenging me to a street fight. His behavior was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. What made the situation even worse was that he encouraged another customer to get involved. That customer then told me I wasn’t welcome and made a blatantly racist remark, saying that “my kind,” referring to me being Latino, wasn’t welcome. I immediately reported the incident to the manager, Rachel. Unfortunately, she did not seem to recognize the seriousness of what had happened or the hostile and discriminatory nature of the encounter. Her response—or lack thereof—was incredibly disappointing. Because of the gravity of this incident, I respectfully request that someone from upper management or corporate review any available security footage from that day to see the situation firsthand. I believe the footage will speak for itself and provide a clearer understanding of the unacceptable behavior I experienced. This incident has been deeply disheartening. River Rock Café used to be one of my favorite places to go, but after being subjected to such open hostility and racism—with no accountability from staff—I no longer feel safe or welcome there. Until there is meaningful acknowledgment and action, I will not be returning.

This place was booming on a Sunday. We didn’t want to wait in the long drive thru line, so we parked and walked up.
We ordered an oat milk dirty chai, a cold brew and a cinnamon roll. We waited over 20 mins for our two drinks and cinnamon roll. By the time our drinks were ready - there were no more cinnamon rolls. The staff take turns helping the drive thru line as well as the walk ups, which I get.
My suggestion is:
Give the food as the customer orders it before drinks are given.
Ask if customer wants the food heated.
We were refunded for the cinnamon roll, but I feel this could have been avoided if they gave the food as it’s ordered.
Maybe offer more than one bench to sit as the average wait was 15-20 mins.

They field up our cup to the very end, she. I opened my cup to make sure they added enough milk, the hot liquid spiked on me. The lady that served me was beside herself not sure what to do. I spoke to the manger and she seems besides herself too, was very concerned with my dissatisfaction.

Mikala and Katie were kind and super fast at makeing our Delicious drinks! Love River Rock Roasting Company and this Location! Makes it great when I dont have time to stop at the main spot. Thank you guys!❤️

My husband and I came all the way from Maine and our number one bucket list food place was River Rock Roasting company. The atmosphere and food was amazing! The service was exceptional! We ate there atleast once a day if not twice a day during our five day stay. We plan to come back and visit again soon and can’t wait to have River Rock Roasting company again! The herbed mushroom truffle oil pizza and ham quiche were my favorites❤️❤️
