When you drive up to a window and order a 12-piece chicken you expect it to be at least warmish? At least I thought so, apparently I thought very wrong never had colder chicken unless I took it out of my fridge. $16 later I guess I'll go to KFC from now onš¤Ø

Just got home with our drive through order. (Waited for over 20 min in line) Ordered the family meal $40 - which included eight pieces of chicken, 2 sides and rolls & corn pones. There were NO rolls or corn pones in my bags of food. The chicken was tough, dry and Iāve never seen such tiny pieces of chicken ever. So disappointed. Wonāt return

Pricing is reasonable but the food is subpar. Everything is just bland and the chicken breading is gritty. Almost like cornflakes that have been crushed. Just all lackluster flavor. The potato salad was the only thing that tasted good.

I worked at C&B in high school and am still not tired of the food! Drive thru isnāt fast because it isnāt fast food. They make the food when ordered and it is fresh and yummy. Some of the best fried chicken Iāve ever had, the ranch is to die for, and the most delicious fries (and lots of them too). Amazing peach pies during peach season too!!! Or any of the pies for that matter. Just do yourself a favor and go here!

C & B Maddox has been a family favourite of ours for decades, although circumstances have kept us from driving up to Layton for the last couple of years. We didnāt realise until after weād eaten (what was edible) that the Maddox name was no longer attached to this place. Wish we had noticedā¦and read reviews before going because the trek up north was SO not worth it! The turkey burgers were as hard and flavorless as hockey pucks, the rolls were dry and dense and the sides for a āfamily of 4ā would barely feed two. As for the service, it swung between surly and disinterested. Too bad, weāre going to miss C & B Maddox. We wonāt be going to C & B FC again.

We wanted to try a new place. ZERO Instructions on how to pick up your food. Awkward as hell when you pull up to the south window and they say "Oh just go park and we'll call your name"...Can NOT easily get out of the driveway to "just go park" Got STUCK in the regular order line because they wouldn't let me stay there, could not back up. Took WAY TOOOO LONG. They changed the pick up time on me. I chose 6:30...the receipt I demanded SHOWS "10/05/24 6:30" and they pushed it out to 7:15 and it LITERALLY was NOT busy. By the time I FINALLY got to the pick up window (7:50pm) ..they acted stupid and pretended they couldn't hear me. They started shoving their fingers into the food. I demanded my money back.
I never got my food.

Use to come here a lot but it keeps going more downhill. When they had peach pie, I ordered two and there was just a sprinkling of peaches in the pie. Called and complained and they gave me a few more peaches? Tonight ordered 2 pumpkin pie slices. The crust was burned. the slices extremely small and no whipped cream. They need to train their young staff much better to stay in business.

This is one of our favorite local restaurants. We live sitting out side at one of their very cute tables. I only gave the food a 4 because they changed the corn pones and ever since that change, they have burned them :(
Iāve been a fan of C & B Famous Chicken for years, and their fried chicken has always been my go-to comfort food. After not having it for a while, I couldnāt resist the craving and brought my wife to share what Iāve always considered the best fried chicken. While the food was still good, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the kitchen and the lack of employee dress code. The grease traps were covered in dust and grime, and the overall appearance made it hard to fully enjoy my meal. I understand that young employees need opportunities, but itās important for them to look presentable and for the place to be well-maintained. I really hope C & B can get back to being the place Iāve always loved.
I have loved this place for many many years and itās disappointing when the prices increase and the chicken sizes significantly decrease. Lucky for us Kentucky fried chicken is across the street and they charge less for their 12 piece chicken meal and they have normal size chicken pieces.
