I ordered take out to feed us and our neighbors. I have ordered food here for years and it has been wonderful. However, this was horrible. It must be under new management. The meat in sweet and sour and orange chicken was so tough it could not be chewed and we ended up throwing it away. I am so sad as this had been my go-to when I didn't want to cook or wanted to order in a meal for visiting friends and family. Need to find a new place.

I love this place, it's some of the best Chinese food in Layton. The food is always fresh, well prepared, and consistently delicious.

The following is my opinionated view and observations…I placed two orders on Saturday, and payment is required prior to preparation. During payment, the owner moved items (paper & containers), wherein I observed insects scatter across the counter. The owner quickly attempted to smash the insects and swipe/wipe the vectors to the ground.

Upon observation, I requested an immediate refund, wherein I was informed that the food was already purchased and no refund would be provided. An accusation of starting trouble all the time was stated, wherein I stated I have not ordered anything in two years—a feeble attempt to not refund.

This place is filthy and has rapidly declined in atmosphere. Young children are also running around in the lobby and kitchen area, which is another safety concern. The health department (Davis County Health; John) has been notified with filing. I will not return to this business and strongly recommend others not to frequent this business.

Regarding your false response…you are incorrect and made a false accusation that I have always caused trouble—I have zero transactions at your business for over two years! If you fabricate this, what else are you fabricating? What video was deleted (I was on an active call and it was audibly witnessed). As to your report to law enforcement, you were definitively informed no crime occurred!

Anyone that frequents your business can observe the lack of cleanliness, no validation required on my part (yes the video shows you swiping items off your counter), as to having children in the kitchen, you were warned by the health department of this violation and as you expressed, anyone can request the inspection findings.

Prior to my departure, I firmly stated I would contact the appropriate agencies wherein I did the following business day. I suspect you had ample time to remedy what I have observed. Furthermore, your retaliatory attempts to file a report was futile due to my right to call the health department for observed health concerns, as mention above, you were informed no crime was committed.

As to my 1st Amendment rights…protects the freedoms of speech, religion, press, assembly, and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances

Additionally, the health department did not provide your “Utah Best 2025”, this certificate was provided to you upon payment and fees that you elected and provides a false sense of compliance.

I suggest apologies and or refunds as a guideline that will exponentially improve the concept of customer service to prevent any negative reviews versus retaliation for reviews you dislike.

Closing…multiple negative reviews address cleanliness and outright rudeness with demands for tips…

Reviews provide customers a guide towards educated decisions-best wishes

I ordered online. I ordered the Szechuan chicken and the beef with mixed vegetables. Both were very, very delicious. The food was ready to go on time and was hot off the stove.
My critiques:
I paid extra to upgrade from plain rice to ham fried rice and from plain white rice to vegetable lo-mein. The vegetable lo mein literally had NO vegetables. It should be called “plain lo mein”. The ham fried rice had barely any detectable ham in it. It should be called “somewhat ham fried rice”. I asked for packets of sweet and sour sauce and the lady told no because my order didn’t include it. The atmosphere is not very inviting, almost like they don’t want you to sit down and eat there. Lastly, the online order app automatically adds about a 20% tip on a pickup order! You can edit it if you know it’s there, but it would be easy to miss.

Nothing special just ehhh.
I got the lunch Szechwan chicken combo.
They don’t have water so you have to purchase a bottled water.

This was my first visit, and I’m so glad I gave it a try! We ordered the cashew chicken and crab rangoon, both were delicious, and the portions were so generous that two of us were full with leftovers. I’ll definitely be back and recommend this place to my friends.

I moved to the area a couple of years ago and this place quickly became my go-to Chinese spot. I’ve been coming here at least a couple of times a month ever since! The food is always delicious, the prices are great, and the staff is super friendly it just feels like a neighborhood gem.

If they handed out fortune cookies, I’d probably have to invent a sixth star. 😄
